I hate these fascists. I really do.

So, the subcommittee that used to work on things like, oh, say, vote suppression and pay equity and maybe even the odd matter arising under the Genocide Convention will now spend the next two years investigating the ongoing war on white people, considering the sacred right of nullification and bringing to light the truth behind the paranoid ravings posted on websites frequented by heavily armed crazy old racist white guys.

I agree with your reaction. While a name may be largely symbolic, this is a clear indication of their intentions moving forward. How did voters ever support legislators who will gleefully tamper with the right to vote?

Don’t these people even think about the optics? Or are they so drunk on their own power that they figure they can get away with whatever they want? I guess we should be thankful they aren’t being smart about it…if they were they’d be a lot more sneaky as they go about undermining our rights.

The only optics they care about are the ones the Tea Partiers see, you know the real Americans.

What’s in a name? A Republican-run subcommittee by any other name would still be a subcommittee run by Republicans who don’t give a damn about civil rights and human rights.

the more i read about them the more convinced i am its going to take a lot more than a voting booth to defeat this mentality.

they wanted to add Corporations Have Civil Rights too but the optics didn’t poll well…

The new name of the subcommittee is as follows and will be written in the three official languages of the GOTP.
English, Afrikaans and German.

Subcommittee for the Protection and Advancement of the Rights of the Moneyed Class
Subkomitee vir die Beskerming en Bevordering van die regte van die besit klas
Unterausschuss für den Schutz und die Förderung der Rechte des Wohlhabend Klasse

Peerless little turds.

You don’t understand: they want to be known for being against civil and human rights. That’s their coin. And people who fall for them, beyond the Kochs and the 1%ers with the same ugly ideas, are true dupes.

If this doesn’t tell every woman, minority and gay in American where they stand with the Republican Party then they deserve what these rich white male conservatives do to them.

Most of these old rich white birds are nearing the death bed, so they will go quietly in the end. The Paul Ryans and Rubios will have to be dealt with in a far more graphic way. The Silent Majority handing Ryan his hat in the last election was a good start

I HATE Republicans…they are truly disgusting. JUST when you think they can’t go any LOWER, they DO.

Why am I not surprised…

Why should they care about anything. The people voted for them. People keep voting for them. It’s the people of this country who have fascist tendencies, those who don’t are indifferent and don’t care to vote.

The real absurdity is that while a Senate committees on civil rights or human rights–both at home and abroad–is logical, how does a “Committee on the Constitution” make any sense at all? What, they need a committee to remember what they are supposed to be doing?

Ditto and the older you get the hate grows. Just glad there a generation ahead of me and they will die off first and the young ones just get sent to there rooms. lol

Exactly. Property rights uber alles! Every new regulation is an unconstitutional taking! (Which is pretty much the view of at least one federal circuit-court judge, Janice Rogers Brown in D.C.)
