Perhaps I am misinformed about the exact legal code of this, but I would think trying to force a woman to have sex against her will is not simply battery but “attempted rape” and refusing to let her leave the house after her refusal is kidnapping and false imprisonment.
Let me be clear. I have no objection to anything that two consenting couples might want to do sexually in the privacy of their own home. That’s their business. When it stops being consensual is where I see a problem.
No doubt Benjamin Sparks will argue that, “it was all a joke!” Isn’t that the stock Repuglican response in this age of Drumpf?
First “Spanky,” now “Sparky.”
These are some twisted motherfuckers
What kind of woman signs a contract like that? I cannot fathom it.
Is Sparks still in hiding?
Let me guess: he has publicly denounced Fifty Shades of Grey and thinks #MeToo is persecution against men.
Lots of empowered and progressive IRL people - including women - are into consensual BDSM and other power-exchange play (both as tops and bottoms)
I think he’s still on the lam.
“If Sparks fails to appear in court next month, a warrant will be issued for his arrest. Sparks’ ex said she will be in court May 8, ready to face him.”
And this: "Sparks did not respond to a text message seeking comment and did not answer a phone call.
Court records show he is not being arrested but instead must appear in court in May."
Fetishes are what they are. This guy just happens to have broken the cardinal rules of a safe, consenting BDSM-type relationship.
I’m sure we will be hearing something about ‘whatever happens in the home…’ BS (except for Bill and Hillary of course which should be ENDLESSLY debated until long after they both are dead /s) but HONEST TO GOD. What is WRONG with these people? Maybe I’m just a prude…
Just another day in the pro-family party. You can’t defend America’s traditional values without a contractual agreement subordinating a female member of the species to the male. Also, it helps to have a dog collar, a leash and perhaps a whip.
This guy’s most serious problems are not legal ones.
Plus it wouldn’t surprise me if she a) saw that contract as a joke and b) thought of herself as an equal partner (in this instance, as long as there wasn’t anything that could be seen as a suicide pact).
Thanks…that’s fine by me if they want to play 50 Shades of Gray …not my cup of tea and can’t get my head around letting a man do that to me. No fucking way.
Now…on the flip side of that coin…maybe…hey bud, here’s your collar…nah…not even that.
LOL, I take Scout’s collar off when he’s in the house.
Wasn’t this a Waltons episode?
She wasn’t into non-consensual codicils.
I would think a “contract” like that is so worthless, even Michael Cohen could get it thrown out.
Republicans defend their hostility to gay rights and their defense of dating/marrying teenagers by pointing to the Bible. I’m sure they’ll run that same play in defending subjugation of women.
With a May 8th court date he has a good chance of beating the filing deadline to run for one of all these vacant repugnican House seats.
This mf-er is a paragon of family values, no??
