Discussion: GOP 2016ers Say SCOTUS Nomination Should Wait For After Election

Discussion for article #245997

Before the night is over, I expect one of them to suggest nominating the 2nd amendment to the Supreme Court.

Uhm, is someone going to tell them they aren’t in charge of shit yet?

Don’t bother telling Carson, he won’t understand.

It’s up to Mitch McConnell and everybody else to stop it. It’s called delay, delay, delay,” he said. (D. Trump)

Damn, Trump sized up the GOP’s agenda, the one they’ve had for the last eight years. Sheesh.

I guess those “Strict Constitutionalists” need to go back and read the Constitution, a-gain.

Someone ought to explain to Kasich we did that in 2012 and “the people” overwhelmingly elected President Obama to do all the Presidenty things until Jan. 20th, 2017. What a loser!

“And so I believe the president should not move forward, and I think that we ought to let the next president of the United States decide who is going to run that Supreme Court with a vote by the people of the United States of America,” Kasich said.

The people did vote. Twice.

The name of Elizabeth Warren comes to mind. That would make them piss their pants!

She’s too old, she’s just a year or two younger than Hillary Clinton, and was fairly recently a Republican! That will never happen.

We’re running for the president of the United States. We want a strong executive for sure,” Bush said. “But in return for that, there should be a consensus orientation on that nomination, and there’s no doubt in my mind that Barack Obama will not have a consensus pick when he submits that person to the Senate.” (J. Bush)

Unamazingly, Jeb Bush is just as smart as his brother, Dubya, was when he went looking for WMDs. In other words, he’s totally wrong and everyone else sees it but dipshit, here.

The Repugs left out the part of the discussion where, if the next President is also a Democrat, they want the Senate to block the nomination of a new Supreme Court Justice for an additional 4 years.

Don’t the Republicans realize that Democrats are really lazy about voting?

Except when motivated.

And I can’t think of anything MORE motivating than blocking a Supreme Court nominee for nearly a year to ensure that Democrats achieve record turn-out.

Hell why not have the election tomorrow and let one of you assclowns take over? No Dem nominee. Why wait?

Gee - Hard to believe that on a day that I am most happy …

I could also be very ANGRY —

Since there’s about 0% chance of Republicans voting on this ever, I hope if the Democrats regain the Senate majority they ram through a vote between January 3 and January 20 regardless of whoever the president-elect is.

This should be brought up on the Sunday talk shows. Of course it won’t. Wouldn’t fit their false equivalency meme.

If they are not going to deal with a nomination, why not adjourn until January, 2017?

Well said, well said.

We can all only thank God that they at least have already passed a budget to keep the Government open for the rest of the year, otherwise that would get wrapped up in this in an instant.
