I doubt Google will suffer any repercussions from shutting down this app. However, say someone developed an Islam Detector App and Google pulled it. I think there would be a lot of people bitching about Google blocking “common sense” measures to assist in tracking “potential terrorists”. Bitching that was agreed with by a good many sympathethizers.

Just because Google pulled the plug-in from its web store doesn’t necessarily kill it. It’ll just be (or remains) available somewhere else, albeit with the risk of malware infection. So evil is just displaced, not eliminated.
