That would be poetic for sure. Unfortunately, the coders who offer their nefarious apps and extensions outside legitimate channels also inject the malware. (I know a little about this as I’ve published several extensions in Google’s store.)

Good to know about it now, so it’s a net gain. But it’s worth revisiting a select few instances where this may have been relevant recently, such as Trump’s 2013 tweets in which he referred to Jon Stewart as Jon Leibowitz. According to the Mic article, the use of echoes didn’t emerge until 2014, but the dog whistle purpose is the same.

Wished I could say I am surprised by this. Years ago I wrote an email to Josh pointing to examples that indicated to me that it seemed as if old Antisemitic troupes were slowly mainstreamed in the US. Starting in less obvious corners of the Web like investments sites. Nowadays zerohedge.com comment sections are full of that crazy.
