Oh dang …

I’d be so sick of this ass already …

if he didn’t present such an opportunity to share material … :smirk:

Unlike Bannon, to whom Giuliani said, “Drink the fifth”…

Edit: Upon further reflection the line should have been:

Giuliani told Trump to take Fifth but Bannon already drank it…

Thank you so much Giuliani for giving the expectations of Trump’s likelihood of being interviewed by Mueller and team!

I hope news stations will show campaign Trump saying the 5th amendment is only for mobsters and guilty people on a constant loop. The hypocrisy is staggering.

And I’d like to give Ty Cobb a shout-out. Inadvertently or not, he kept Trump from firing Mueller with the Tom “six months” Friedman strategy, until it’s become way too late for that to accomplish anything.

Will we have to place the “Cobb unit” alongside the “Friedman unit” in the annals of history?

Giuliani fails to understand that he is now part of Trumps defense team. He is not to be providing entertainment on TV, what he says now is relevant to his client’s case. Talking nonsense or without really knowing was fine when Fox News booked him to give an opinion, that is no longer the case he is going to get Trump impeached.

Giuliani had said earlier that he wasn’t prepared to have Trump answer Mueller’s questions, “not after the way they’ve acted.”

“They”?? “They”?? After the interviews you’ve been giving??

Y’all clearly aren’t prepared, period.

I think one factor is these are all people who live their lives in front of a camera, saying stuff generally without consequences, just blather to entertain idiots, and they’re suddenly thrust into a world where it matters a lot and they just can’t adjust. That’s Trump and the people he feels comfortable with—shadow puppets. More and more that’s who he’s turning to. Out goes Cobb, in comes Giuliani. Out goes Cohn, in comes Kudlow. The real-world types bore and annoy him with their warnings and such. He wants confident, hard-hitting nonsense, the more superficial and het-up the better.

Yes–I think of Trump’s understanding of the media as being in large measure a product of the tabloid press he was so desirous to make regular appearances in. And so now, when he says that the media want him to run and win a second term because their ratings and sales depend on it, he doesn’t quite get that the reason he gets the coverage he does is that he’s the president. The media have to cover him. But gosh darn it, now the media cover things about him he’d rather they not cover and that he can’t just bluster away.

“not after the way they’ve acted.”

The way they acted? You have that backwards. It’s been your actions along with your client’s that have been rude and improper. I don’t know how else to say it. My head feels like a bobblehead. It continually bounces around at the volume of nonsense coming from the White House and his team of “best” people.

Doonesbury, today: "I must say that as a reporter, I wish the president would stop referring to himself as a ‘witch.’ (the Sam DONaldson character)

One thing that I think is helpful to remember with Trump is his seemingly off-the-scale ADD. It makes him pretty much incapable of any form of learning. He’s too incurious, too attention-impaired, too ignorant, and too slow-witted and crude in his thinking to realize the situation has changed. He keeps doing what worked for him once, in a different situation, not realizing it won’t work always or in a new one.

Here’s a question I never thought I’d be asking: Is pleading the Fifth grounds for presidential impeachment?

I’d have to say yes, because I don’t think impeachment and prosecution impinges on the President’s right to take the Fifth - it doesn’t put him in jail, it just fires him from the job of POTUS.

What do the rest of you think?

Friedman Unit (F.U.) = Six Months

Cobb Unit (C.U.) = By the end of the year
