Let’s all just pause for a moment to contemplate Newt Gingrich calling something “vitriolic and nasty.”

Hah! When the fu*k was Newt ever right about anything in the last 20 years?

Never!

This is all Obama’s fault. If he didn’t run for president and win by convincing majorities, twice, none of this would have ever happened.

In fact, it goes bigger than Obama - this is the Democrat’s fault for having the audacity to put up a candidate for President every four years. How dare they! Don’t they know the historical precedent is to put up just a GOP candidate every 4 years?

IT’S IN REVELATIONS PEOPLE!!

It’s hilarious that washed-up GOPers like Gingrich, with zero credibility based on their record, make predictions and pronouncements and the media slurps it up like grandma’s chicken soup. LOLTVNEWZ.

What Mitt Romney did was misguided, wanton and a betrayal. Mitt Romney is a bane of conservatism. It was Mitt Romney’s amoral campaign that drove the rise of Trump.

If Mitt truly believes in what he is mouthing and wants to put country above Party, Mitt Romney would put his ill-gotten money and mouth to work and launch a third party campaign for president.

When Mitt Romney is your last great hope, then you have no hope.

With all the batshit crazy that Republicans have pulled in the last ten years… Newt seems to think

that he knows what they will or will not pull next ??? Got it —

Only Nancy’s astrologer can tell us that —

I’d swear he was angling for Veep (as the elder statesman and calming influence on the Trump ticket) - if 2012 hadn’t already shown us that his ludicrously over-inflated ego could never accept being Vice-President.

Wait a second. Did Newt Gingrich just call somebody else’s speech “vitriolic and nasty”?

Newt is rarely ever right about anything, but I do think he’s right about this. Romney seems to want to be a player, an elder statesman in the party, but not THE player. Whomever emerges from a contested convention will be DOA. Their job will be to try to salvage the Senate and the party’s reputation, not to actually win because the number of bitterly angry Republicans refusing to vote for the nominee will be too much to overcome. So the focus would be stopping the bleeding and starting the work of moving the party in a different direction for the future.

Romney wants to be president, sure, but he’s just not that magnanimous and selfless. Very few Republicans are.
