Discussion: George H.W. Bush Doesn't Want To Be In Michelle Nunn's Campaign Ad

Discussion for article #229081

A quick search of the internets will reveal that Bush was happy to tout the bipartisan nature of his “1000 Points of Light” campaign, which he was able to do because it included, y’know, Democrats.

Cry me a f#@kin’ river.

Great ad, Michelle.

Bush translated: I’m outraged that Michelle Nunn would imply, during election season, that I ever behaved with any decency toward any human being who happened to be a Democrat.

Michelle should offer to pull that ad if McConnell pulls his Chuck Todd ad

If you are going to take public photos engaging with people and hire them to run your foundation then you can’t expect those pictures and facts to be off limits.

She’s not claiming you endorsed her, just that you worked with her.  Point out one fib or misstatement and they may have to take that down.

But you posed for the picture and you hired her to run your foundation. Those are facts, and trying to hide them if weak at best.

That statement reads like it was written by some young college Republican interning at Papa Bush’s library.
My guess is that Papa Bush doesn’t even remember who Michelle Nunn is, but his secretary got him to sign off on the statement in exchange for a new pair of socks and a cookie.

What a disgusting mean spirited, small minded and dumb man. Looks like this incompetent has not aged gracefully at all. Remember, George HW Bush provided millions of tax payer dollars to create the Taliban.

Barbara is probably behind this!

Bingo! +10

This is probably correct. The man’s 90 years old, I really doubt that he knows or cares about this ad.

Hypocrisy knows no bounds! This statement is hardly from President Bush — but his political team who want to play politics, just as Ms. Nunn is playing politics.

The level of Moral Development among political campaigners is below anything Kohlberg imagined!

Babs wears the pants in that family and she is NOT AMUSED!

Willie Horton thought the same about Bush using his picture in a campaign ad.

lol ask ghwb who is his war hero kid is and it would take him 2 days to come with his name.
This is just the queen bee rambling once again.
breath taking lol lol

I’m pretty sure George Zimmerman didn’t want any of his pictures or quotes in the news either.

Unpleasant as he might have seen it, Bush was comfortable enough with some much more dirty politics than this sort of thing back in Lee Atwater days.

Why… why you’ve discovered an equivalency here ! That’s earning your 75 cents!

You found something dirty in the Nunn ad? Bur at least it wasn’t Atwater dirty? Huh?

Exactly.
This is from the guy who ran the Willie Horton ads so let’s not kid ourselves about who has the moral high ground.

$5 says this is less from HW than the Bushies around him, given his failing health.
