Umm, you do realize that when it comes to the FOX crowd, this only bolsters the “Redskins” argument. No way a FOXer is bothered by those terms.
They’d love to see a team named the “Socialists” which, of course, they’d call “Niggers.” Means the same thing from their perspective.
I’m really shocked at what Simmons has to say. Shocked that he knows words like “validate” and “besmirched”.
Words have meaning, but clicks talk and words walk.
I agree with some of the commentators. TPM just get the message we are reading you already, we do not need stupid and often misleading headlines.
Gotta love Gene Simmons. He has a great point though I doubt that those on FOX heard what he really said. They were probably too busy thinking about what to say next to defend the Redskins owner than truly listening when Gene was talking. At least he tried.
Umm actually he is a pretty eloquent speaker and smart if you’ve ever truly heard him talk. 
You shouldn’t be. Being a bass player for KISS was merely a very well paying job and fun lifestyle for him. He has always come across as a pretty smart guy and a very good public speaker any time I have heard him sans the face paint.
Simmons is noted for his opposition to drug use. I doubt that he has ever dropped acid. He is an amazingly good businessman. But, I detest his music and his arrogance.
That said, I find nothing objectionable in the manner in which he used these objectionable words. As a proud Mvskoke, I am pleased to have him on our side on the issue of continued use of the team name Re*****s.
Simmons is a Gold Plated Sexist Asshole and perhaps a self-hating Jew. Makes David Lee Roth look like a milquetoast.
I learned some racial slurs I didn’t know from the article on Foxy News. That couldn’t be good, could it?
I think Terry Gross is an atrocious interviewer though I find many of her guests interesting. If you think Simmons is “special” you obviously never heard this. Second only to Bill O’Reily in term of rudeness.
And his point is that he is a stoooopid, ignorant cretin who has absolutely no empathy with any fellow human beings. He is white, rich and male, thus must his opinion be the only one that counts.
Yes, he is being rude in that interview…but he is obviously doing so for a reason. He is purposely throwing her off her pre planned interview and forcing her to do the interview he wants to have. And, even if you find him to be a complete ass in the interview (which he is), he is still eloquent (much more so than Gross is) and not a moron.

The point-of-view Mr. Simmons holds to in this interview seems rather reasonable.
But the tone, title and first sentence of this article are completely out-of-line as they insinuate he was just throwing around racial slurs.
This is the kind of thing places like World Net Daily, Newsmax, etc. would do to push their narrative.
Shame on TPM and Catherine Thompson for choosing to get in the gutter.
Actually well spoken and in several languages. Just steeped in decades of cash, and the distance it can create from the ordinary. Just too interested in the accumulation of wealth, and becoming more and more of a dbag as a result.
Be careful in using the descriptor “drops” when TPM throws out, picks up or utilizes words in a racially reactionary manner.
