Good for him! That would take a lot of guts.
maybe Austin’s future will brighter by attending a school with a real science curriculum.
Why is he going to this “skool”?
LOL Leviticus
Bravo Austin! Bravo Cheryl!
What Texas parent of a gay child thinks sending him to a Christian school is going to end well?
Not surprised by either the young man’s or the school’s decisions.
It’s a private religious-based school.
Austin’s orientation, recently-discovered by both parties-- left little room for compromise.
Peace be with Austin-- here’s hoping he can expand his horizons much more broadly elsewhere.
I think perhaps even more credit should be given his mother Cheryl
for her compassion towards her son’s revelation.
It’s obvious his mother has deeply religious underpinnings in her life–
as per her sending Austin to a private Lutheran academy.
That she could expand her personal perspectives to understand her son’s sexuality–
and seemingly accept him for himself is a beautiful expression of love.

.
Honestly he should have challenged them to kick him out…the optics on that would have been beautiful.
According to the school’s web site: “We are anchored in Christ in all we do. We serve by reflecting Christ’s love for us toward others.” Um… okay…
It’s sad that this young’n won’t receive the God-ordained brainwashing to which all young white males are entitled. I sure hope he doesn’t grow up to be “tolerant.” /snark
They had to kick him out. To forgive him would go against the teachings of christ.
That the young man’s orientation was a recent discovery for all involved?
Tends to cut everyone involved some slack for the situation-- as it developed-- within the past several months.

“He said that in the Bible it declares that being a homosexual is a sin and we cannot have you promoting a sinful lifestyle”
I’m forgetting, where in the bible does it actually say that a Savior who eschews the company of women and hangs out with 12 guys who absolutely worship him is being sinful?
I’m curious what other “anti-Biblical” lifestyles merits expulsion from this POS school. Leaving aside the rest of Leviticus that says nothing about buttsex, what about violating the 10 Commandments? If a student lies, do they kick him out? If a student says “Goddamn it”, do they kick him out? If a student draws God, do they kick him out?
I have a feeling the only two things that get you kicked out of this school are being gay and not paying the tuition.
You make the point that struck me. Are they investigating which of the high schoolers may have engaged in premarital sex? According to national statistics, they might be losing 40% of their population and tuition.
I like how just existing is “promoting” a life style…
Kind of hard to get to heaven when you’re “anchored”.
I’m sure they kick kids out for cutting their hair or wearing clothing made from two kinds of cloth. I imagine it happens all the time, but the lamestream media won’t report it
Funny enough though, when the Mormon Church kicks someone out, the immediately start to trying to “re-convert” them so they can rejoin the church.
