âŚ[A]fter years of taking guff as the more dysfunctional chamber, they more than happy to fire back.
Mama always liked you better, but youâre just as fubar as me!
Repubs cannot reach out to the Dems because they cannot even reach out to themselves. Morally bankrupt!!
Itâs terrifying how smart you donât have to be to serve in the House of Representatives.
I think Ryan would have been better served by singing Celene Dion since this GOP disaster resembles the Titanic more than the Edmund FitzgeraldâŚ
Good job Republicanâts. Couldnât happen to a better set of assholesâŚ
Whatever, shitbirds.
You threw it over the fence because you didnât want to deal with it.
So clearly Republicans in Congress will run on âwe fulfilled our pledge, it was Senateâs faultâ. That will help them survive primaries. And theyâll hope that since their constituents will be spared consequences of the repeal, voters in the general election wonât remember about this.
In other words, they hope that republican senators will replace Obamaâs vetoes as a scapegoat. Letâs make sure voters remember both the congressmen and 48 senators.
Exactly. They brought the holdouts on board by promising that the Senate would fix the bill.
But, please proceed with the infighting and blame flinging, GOP. I can buy more popcorn if I need it.
But they will always have their " victory" celebration in the Rose Garden with The Apprentice in the White House to remember.
âThey tried to do the most minuscule thing they could that was said to be relevant to [Obamacare] but it turned out they were way too ambitious,â Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) groused to TPM as he left the meeting. âI have never, ever seen a situation where the senators were calling to say âlook, we can only pass this bill if you promise us you wonât pass it.â Iâve never, ever heard that.â
Um, maybe thatâs because there have never been two bigger POS bills than the Senateâs skinny repeal proposal and the House bill that passed?
âŚand at any point did anyone ever stop and ask themselves, âwait, why the hell are we doing this again?â.
Of course not. They worship authoritarianism. They got their authoritarian president, and their authoritarian Jesus, and they were blindly following their authoritarian party leader.
âThe Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald?â Really? Why not paint your fucking faces blue and recite âBraveheartâ? You are goddamn heroes who âput up the good fightâ? The audacity and ego are simply despicable. WHO THE HELL DO THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE?
Someone remind me â what happened to the Edmond Fitzgerald?
Oh, thatâs right â it fucking SANK.
The claim that the House âdid its jobâ is unbelievably disingenuous given that the only way Ryan was able to jam AHCA through was by convincing Tuesday Group members they should vote Yes on a bill they opposed just to keep the process alive and they were safe to do so because the Senate would never pass his terrible bill as-is.
The charge of the Light Brigade didnât go all that well either.
People love to romanticize failure. Maybe someday there will be something similar for the GOP. If Democrats ever get their shit together, anyway.
Also the Senate.
Also the White House.
Their constituents will feel the consequences of Trumpâs narcissistic rage bender against the American people expressed through sabotage of the individual health insurance market instead.
âI have never, ever seen a situation where the senators were calling to say âlook, we can only pass this bill if you promise us you wonât pass it.â Iâve never, ever heard that.â
Holy fuck Iâm agreeing with Louie Gohmert.
@esteban With Joshâs helpful annotations of how many of their constituents they attempted to un-insure.
Well, according to the Mooch, some of them can.
Because not condemning tens of thousands to a slow death from preventable medical conditions is totally comparable to a deadly shipping tragedy. Fuck, I didnât think it was physically possible to hate these murderous motherfuckers more than I already did.
