Starship troopers facing down the bugs to protect Earth. Next question?
It was just yesterday when the ship sailed away,
only to sink under Potomac´s waters,
They thought they´d reach land
under McConnell´s wily hand,
with the outcome by Kochs being boughten
The members of the house
run by a devious mouse-
I mean the weasel - from Janesville Wisconsin,
( And that poor state has a terrible fate,
to have pols such as Walker and Johnson)
After the gale they all started to wail,
and said ¨it´s all the fault of the Senate!¨
But they knew that their bill,
was an unswallowable pill,
they prayed the Senate vote agin´ it!
So now they all sit,
a pack of blithering nitwits,
And wait for the next Potus twitter,
They´ve gone out a limb,
And with no help from him,
If fits that the nitwits grow bitter!
What a bunch of snowflake whiny bottoms.
Bravo!
I didnât mean in âthatâ way.
I know. I just couldnât resist. LOL.
I realize that failure to pass the BRCA / skinny repeal / etc wasnât a given but how can anyone be surprised that folks who arenât gerrymandered into safe seats wouldnât vote for yugely unpopular bill?
Also Paul Ryan is an odious man to compare GOP to the crew of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Although if the analogy holds Iâm ok with that.
House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) led the closed-door meeting by reciting lyrics to the old song âThe Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald,â a ballad about a ship sinking just miles from shore â âDoes any one know where the love of God goes when the waves turn the minutes to hours? The searchers all say theyâd have made Whitefish Bay if theyâd put fifteen more miles behind her.â
I gotta admitâŚI loved that song when I was younger. A lot of us from Great Lakes States feel an affinity for that legend and the ship that sank. And the fact that it sank is the reason RAyn, as arrogant and bullheaded as he is, brought it up. They failed. MiserablyâŚand it wasnât because of gale force winds. It was because of their hubris, their animus towards poor people, and their hostility to our first Black President. They know it. So fuck em.
If any winds were at work, it was people power behind that force. Itâll be the people that will have a say in who retains their job after all this has happened. 2018 canât come soon enough.
On the other hand, no one will be singing their praises for any valiant effort on their part. It was a cynical ploy from the beginning, cast in trying to win elections without having to do a fucking thing, other than whine and complain to pit one political party against anotherâŚSuddenly they were expected to follow through on their demands when they got their majorityâŚand the best they could do was to come up with a way to destroy the entire healthcare system and social safety net in the process. They never wanted to look at the facts, so they just lied repeatedly and created their own set of facts. Thankfully, they were thoroughly routed, and not merely as a result of bad weather conditions or taking on took much water to weigh them down. They sunk because they never understood how much people rely on their healthcare under Obamacare for their own well-being and peace of mind.
I would be happy to ring the bell 29 times â one for each GOPer who loses their seat to a Dem in 2018.
Especially the White House.
On Tuesday President Trump, Speaker Ryan, and Wisconsin Governor Walker announced a deal to build a 10 Billion dollar electronics factory in Janesville Wisconsin. This was a bribe paid to Ryan before the Senate vote. If the Senate bill was passed and sent to the house, Ryan would have passed it without any changes so that it would go directly to the White House for the Presidentâs signature.
Now that the bill failed to pass the Senate, Janesville will not get the big new factory.
If a member of the 115th Congress or their aides happen to be reading this thread, please take this message back to the member you are working for and share it with them:
Tell them this message came directly from an ordinary working citizen, born and raised here in America:
Personally, Iâm frustrated in having my life stunted, held in limbo, no growth, etc., for the past 8 years. So frankly, I have had more than enough of Congressâ daily frustration and getting nothing done!
It is high time that you all go home, pack your differences aside and return to Congress with a renewed spirit. A new spirit of togetherness and truly strengthening communities across America. Remember we are depending on you governing us all. So upon your return, pledge to leave that stale eight (8) year old frustration buried in your backyard and do your job by improving the lives of the people you have been given the honor to serve!
I donât understand people who operate under the assumption that the average republican capitol critter cares a whit about âaverage Americansâ or is just misguided. They serve plutocrats, not the people. No appeals to decency will change that. Only voting in real candidates who arenât morally compromised by big money will.
Hereâs another great song by Gordon Lightfoot.
50 years ago, in 1967, the Detroit Riots happenedâŚItâs documented to have started on July 23 - July 28, todayâs date. Living on the Northwest side of Detroit, I remember it continuing long after those dates, and had far reaching ramifications into the future for the city, its residents and the surrounding areasâŚeven today.
Exhibit a. Louie Gohmert Exhibit b. Steve King Exhibit c. Marsha Blackburn Exhibit d. Virginia Foxx Exhibit e. Blake Farenthold These are some of the worse of the worse in my observation. What redeeming features do they have I ask?
Exhibit e, Trey Gowdy.
Yes, Mooch thinks some members of the administration are quite flexible indeed.
Just reading that list of morons made my brain hurt!
