“You know, it all I guess fits in love, war and politics,” Sanford said.

There’s so much to unpack in this one sentence (but I’m fine leaving it alone, too).

He was a prototype of Trump: dumb and insane.

Moreover, it’s hard to get to the right of a South Carolina politician.

A silly analogy. Less morning coffee?

It’s more simple than this: For the future of the GOP, Trump is counter productive.

This is one of your more familiar story tropes: the person who’s eccentric enough to describe things as they really are.

“I don’t work for him,” he added, referring to Trump. “I work for about 750,000 people in the first congressional district.”

“
just kidding,” he went on to say. “I work for my corporate masters. We all know that.”

How delightful for a Freedom Caucus member to bring up counterproductivity. Government shutdowns are an FC feature.

We have 318 million people. But this guy is still in office.

It’s a funny thing how flagrant infidelity, completely dereliction of duty, the loss of his entire family and national disgrace turns a punchline into a statesman
when expedient! When Sanford was the married governor of South Carolina doling out Christo-fascist Right Wing balms for everyone I’d wager he hadn’t learned yet that he actually represented the people! He’ll manage yet to agree with 95% of what Trump decrees somehow!

This is funny. Trump’s primary threats are what keep him in power and likely in office. “Counterproductive” here means “can’t get rid of him quite yet”.

Yup.

Kakistocracy: a state or country run by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens.

Of course they are going and threatening all the difference caucuses. The only single tool, in Trump’s tool box, is bullying-threat. That is all he knows.

Ummm, the ‘freedom’ part of the name refers to the fact that these caucusies aren’t obliged to do anything which includes their jobs.

Trounce is a whelp and Sanford would most likely beat him around his ears and orange pelt before noogeying him into submission.

Being a Russian tool is counterproductive as is dragging down your entire Party for being said tool.
Besides, a lying/cheating/sex fiend can’t threaten a lying/cheating/hob nobler with anything but fake fortitude. It just isn’t humanly possible.

If he gets “primaried” he could always go for another long walk.
