Discussion: Freedom Caucus Chair: We Don't Want 'This Binary Choice' About Health Bill

Jim Jordan is mentally incapacitated by the concept of “thinking.”

He will never be able to do it.

"Right now, there’s big concerns, and I don’t think there’s the votes for this legislation.”

Been hearing from your constituents have you?

It doesn’t kill enough people fast enough.

Can’t promise this is 100% the truth, but it’s sure starting to feel like it…

We are witnessing the destruction of the Republican party. This was supposed to be their hour of triumph, and they’re blowing it. Their leaders are desperate, corrupt buffoons drawing more criticism by the hour. Their president is the most corrupt in American history. They’re trying to pass laws that will bludgeon the lower and middle classes. And on top of that, the country’s only getting more diverse.

2018 will not be pretty for the GOP. They’re a party on its last legs.

Of course you can’t change it, Congressman. The bill has been carefully crafted to hurt people as quickly and efficiently as possible while also being able to be passed under reconciliation.

It’s a fine line. Changes to the bill might alter that precious dynamic.

”There are a lot of members who don’t want this binary choice.”

In binary, they actually have 10 choices: one or the other.

A line I’ve been reading once a week for the past four years. Still waiting for that.

I’m not sure this guy listens to his constituents. He only listens to the little voices in his head. That way he can continue to march to the beat of his own drummer and be accountable to no one. I do hope come 2018 his constituents drum him out of office and beat him down, metaphorically speaking of course.

Here’s your binary choice, Congressman: Pass it or your man-child president is humiliated. And he’s really the only one who matters here. How inconsiderate of you.

I just listened to a segment on NPR this morning where a group of Republican voters praised Trump for his first weeks in office. They see him as being a strong leader and they feel that he’s getting things done. One 65+ year old man said Trump has done more in his first month in office than any other president in his memory. None of them believe and/or care about the Russia allegations, feeling that the press was overblowing it and that even if Russia did interfere, it had no effect on the election.

This is not the end of the GOP, by a long shot. As long as there are people in this country that can look at this corrupt train wreck of a presidency and think it’s going swimmingly, the GOP will be alive and strong.

I am shocked to learn that this guy possibly knows what “Binary” means.

Trump barely won the election.

The GOP isn’t delivering for the working class people they duped into voting against their self-interest.They’re clearly not going to deliver for them over the course of the next 4 years. Are we to assume that all these working class people are just morons that can’t figure out when they’ve been duped? They’re not.

The GOP is going to lose votes, starting in 2018, and they really can’t afford to lose many. Their behavior has motivated a lot of people that didn’t bother to vote in the past. It’s not a good recipe for political success. Democrats are in position to reap the benefits of all this.

Honestly, the negativity and doom-and-gloom on this site gets to be a bit much. I think I’m done with it.

I think what he’s saying is that the Freedom Caucus doesn’t feel comfortable letting Trump and Ryan ram this through Congress.

Anybody else think that the above picture is good look for Jim Jordan? Hands up don’t shoot! Is this the position his constituents put him in or is there something else going on?

This is like watching the two degenerate inbred rapists from Deliverance argue about whether to use a condom.

When a person goes to the doctor’s office they’re faced with a binary question.

Of course - what does anyone expect from his supporters right now? It’s only been two months -they aren’t going to start saying they made a mistake this soon so of course you can find people who will say this shit and especially GOP and GOP voters - they aren’t going to start admitting they lost the election when they are in charge.

I personally think people take way too much from way too little.

This is a meme some of my Republican relatives have been floating around in response to questions about Trump’s support:

Note that not only is the Russian stuff dismissed, but the role of the Electoral College. Now if one is a Republican it might be understandable that one would be dismissive of the Russian concerns, but they don’t stop there. No, they go forward and deny the undeniable role of the Electoral College in the election, because Republicans are convinced they are the majority. That their beliefs have the support of the majority of the population and any “facts” or “evidence” that disputes that is nothing, but liberal lies or the product of liberal cheating. Unfortunately, a large enough minority shares that delusion that they and the members of that minority aren’t going to be giving it up anytime soon and they are only going to become angrier and more fanatical the more reality puts the lie to that belief.

Yes. So what?

They aren’t the majority. We know that whether they do or not. So it doesn’t matter what they think, the facts are the facts.
