Discussion: Fox Shows Photos Of ISIL Burning Jordanian Pilot Alive

Discussion for article #232845

"“The reason we’re showing you this is to bring you the reality of Islamic terrorism…”
Apparently Fox News has completely forgotten about the “reality” of 9/11 and the president and secretary of state who did absolutely nothing to prevent when warned in advance.

No.

It was for shock value.

If it burns or bleeds or increases hate factor.

It leads.

I don’t want to see anyone killed or even injured, hell, I can’t even watch America’s Funniest Videos for fear of seeing some kid get racked on a stair railing while skateboarding.
.
IMO this kind of shit is gratuitous and disgusting.

I saw the pictures and they are disturbing. But to show them on national tv is just beyond heartless.

This is just a distraction from Benghazi.

Okay, it’s official now. FOX is now the National Enquirer of the air waves. If it were a publication it would be at the check stand.

I am so angry over this. Bret and the network are sick and disgusting. Total lack of respect to the pilot and his family.

…but a shot of Janet Jackson’s tit creates an uproar that led to How Much in fines? Yes, Flock’s News has enough boobs on the t.v. to last a lifetime, but they won’t show the real thing. smh

Some damn fool on Twitter told that it was necessary to show video so others could see what kind of scum ISIL is.

I bet Brett Baier got a big f*cking hardon watching this. Torture porn. Disgusting. People can find this sh!t if they want; there is no need to broadcast it on TV. Leeches.

“The reason we’re showing you this is to bring you the reality of…”
Heretics and “witches” during the history of Europe?
Joan of Arc?
Southern black lynchings
Western “kangaroo” courts and hanging?
Atrocities of major World Wars?
Atrocities of subsequent minor wars?
Waterboarding and other torture techniques?

But there was no video back then, and we are civilized now.

Unfortunately this is nothing new. Some of us are old enough to remember network news broadcasting extremely graphic images of the Viet Nam war on the six o’clock news. It did not have the partisan slant that fox imparts to everything though.

Scottie from Wisconsin said this in an interview with Martha Raddatz, it’s all over the place but basically he wants war somewhere or rather "boots on the ground.’

WALKER: I think anywhere and everywhere, we have to be — go beyond just aggressive air strikes. We have to look at other surgical methods. And ultimately, we have to be prepared to put boots on the ground if that’s what it takes, because I think, you know —

RADDATZ: Boots on the ground in Syria? U.S. boots on the ground in Syria?

WALKER: I don’t think that is an immediate plan, but I think anywhere in the world —

I’m old enough and I recall seeing film of Buddhist monks setting themselves on fire in protest of the Vietnam war and the film rolling until the incinerated remains crumpled over in a heap.

Didn’t we already know that Fox News hires only voyeurs?

Since when do Fox-watchers care about a Jordanian being cremated?

Would they be more likely to send more Americans and keep waging the senseless and extremely expensive war against the latest villains?

And they wonder why Social Security is “at risk.”

I remember a naked little girl running toward the camera after being firebombed. It is an image I will never forget. It convinced a lot of Americans that the war had to end.

That reminds me of the scene in American Sniper where the guy is locked onto the tv when the footage of the world trade center attack was shown. It galvanized him into hatred and false patriotism.
