And also, if California mandates a certain standard, every car in the country is getting it, because carmakers cant afford to ignore its massive market, and its cheaper to sell 1 model across the country. Much like how Texas can single handedly dumb down textbooks across the country, by passing stupid standards which prevent the teaching of evolution, or mentioning that slavery was a bad thing.

Wait until there is a incident caught on video where someone gets roughed up by a police officer after getting pulled over for a broken tail lamp. The gaggle on Outnumbered will say “Why don’t we regulate cars so things like this don’t happen?”

Fox, in legal terms settled in court, is an entertainment network despite the name “Fox News” and as such is not required to tell the truth. This is real and not snark on my part. Fox is free to lie with impunity and in the guise of speaking truth. This is how we get under informed and very angry rubes who will vote for the likes of Ben Carson or Donald Trump or even Rick Santorum.

He’s not stupid, though. Tantaros is flat out dumb. I’m still not sure how she dresses herself in the morning. O’Reilly is the Rush Limbaugh of Fox News. He doesn’t believe what he’s saying, but he gets paid to do it. I actually half expect he is/was a closet Democrat based on the Bill O’Reilly before he got a Fox News show.

He is a serial bully and a misogynist for sure, but I think the child molester thing is probably a bit over the top and offensive to those who have actually been abused as children. It doesn’t make us the better political party or advocates to engage in the same muck raking they do.

In DC, vehicles are inspected only for emissions not safety. (yes, they used to do both).
In Wisconsin, vehicles are only tested for emissions in the Milwaukee County area but no where else in the (state.http://www.wisconsinvip.org/WivipPublic/Pages/Content.aspx?ID=10) No safety testing that I’m aware of.
As far as I’m aware, safety and emissions testing varies by jurisdiction.

But … drivers tests, licensing of drivers and vehicles, and insurance requirements are all in place in both locations. Pretty sure they are required across the country.
