Obama focused on Bread and Butter issues, very effectively, and won because of it. Twice. and the ENTIRE Progressive-Purity Blogosphere HATED HIM FOR IT (and still do today.)

Kamala had fund-raising Tee shirts pre-printed with herself as a little school girl during her busing days. So this heart-felt - “poor little me” - impresses me less than it would have if it wasn’t obviously a pre-planned ambush. I like Kamala a lot-- but this IMO is a bit of hubris. I like Warren a lot, but her ‘pinkie promise’ that what little girls do is run for president, seems IMO a bit pandering. Hard to see a male candidate do these - except donald on the “poor little me” routines. Not sure that Harris is my number 2 choice anylonger.

It’s surprising how many are gunning for him…(or maybe not surprising)-- Did he blow it? Hmmm Wish I could see the transcript - he said “you have mischaracterized my position”, which she did to an extent. Regarding his brag that he could work – back in the day of Senate civility, even with segregationists… wow-- that was a misstep?
Once again - unless the Democrats run the table in 2020 – which isn’t statistically likely at this point, no pie-in-the-sky stuff will be accomplished. Trashing all the GOP – if they deserve it or not – isn’t going to accomplish anything.
Bernie – was thinking – he is so like donald - as the other side of the coin: cult following, preferred by Russia, not 100% forth coming (Notice now that he is outed as one of the millionaires, his attacks are only for the billionaires?) he wants to turn the USA into Scandinavia for democratic socialism, while donald wants to turn the USA into Scandinavia for a largely majority white country. Odd isn’t it? The USA probably won’t turn into Sweden, Norway or Denmark.

In one of the most astonishing speeches ever given from the senate floor, progressive Democrat, Senator Elizabeth Warren, called out the Obama administration for being a wholly owned subsidiary of Citibank. Her speech was prompted by a Wall Street bomb inserted at the last minute in the Omnibus spending package gutting a key provision from the already watered down Dodd-Frank Act of 2010. That provision regulated how banks trade in derivatives. The banks wanted to, once again, gamble with FDIC insured deposits and, if the derivative deals blow up as before, to be bailed out, once again, by taxpayers.

The White House didn’t, the Congress did. How is that Obama’s fault? He was against it but they did it anyway.
I know all the Progressive Purists wanted their “Pound of Flesh” for the 2008 meltdown, and when they didn’t get it, they all turned on Obama and elected REPUBLICANS in 2010 in huge numbers, who then proceeded to make things worse, and continue to.
So who is to blame for this? Obama? or the Voters?

Have you even looked at an exit poll before? Here’s an example: Florida 2012:
Romney wins whites by 61%-37%
Obama wins African Americans 95%-5%
Obama wins Latinx 60%-39%
Electorate was around 67% white. Obama wins.
Let’s take Wisconsin 2012, which Obama won by 6 points.
He lost whites by 3. Winning Black voters by 94-6 allowed him to make up that gap and lap Romney. Whites were 86% of the electorate.
That’s pretty much how it’s done in every battleground state by Dems.
Btw, the white share of the vote for 2020 nationally is projected to be 67%, and the POC share 30.5%.
Perhaps you should study the math a little more closely.

khaaannn, UnfadingGreen, please tone down the rhetoric & keep it civil. We can discuss our differences, but when you start telling your interlocutors to “enjoy the view from up there on the cross,” and suggesting that our candidates are “yelling at them [voters], over and over and over again, about what greedy, racist, misogynistic people they are,” you have gone over the top.
You even make me wonder if you are deliberately trying to stir up the pot, perhaps paid by some nefarius organization like the RNC, Fox News, or Russia.

Centrist victim role-playing is hilarious.
Sorry, but Obama’s main purposes were to make sure the insurance lobby was happy and to make sure Wall Street was happy. Even when he had the ability to help people directly, like with HAMP, he didn’t put much effort into it. Billions of dollars in aid that had already been allocated never got used, because Obama didn’t tell people to use it.
