Iā€™m sure Governor Barbour also isnā€™t offended by the Klan, the institution of slavery and Jim Crow laws. What type of person can defend such a symbol of hate and white supremecy in 2015?

Of course Governor Barber isnā€™t offended by the Confederate Flag- itā€™s a symbol of everything he holds dear including sedition and treason against the United States.

Former MS Gov Haley Barbour R-(N^iggerhater) has a point.
Heā€™s not making it very well.
But he does have one.

And he thinks the CCC is just a public spirited organization dedicated to the betterment of all humanity.

Barbour who has embraced the hate group in SC which inspired the killer is not offended. No news there. But this is good news. Carolina Panthers is donating $100,000. to the good people of Charleston to help pay for funerals for their loved ones.

Well, he did at least acknowledge that other people did find it offensive, but the problem is he avoided the question, like most Republicans seem to be doing.

Well, Iā€™ll take a guess. Your nickname, ā€˜bubba with a tieā€™ might have something to do with that.

There was some serious asskissing in that interview and even more serious evasion of the facts. This is a guy who has quite literally whitewashed his stateā€™s racist history throughout his career. MS got more money and more quickly to rebuild after Katrina than did New Orleans. Why? MS was R, and NO was Democratic, but no longer.

Barbours racism totally intact.

The state ranks worst in every metric possible, why should the flag reflect anything different?

The CCC is so public spirited they donated to a lot of republicans including the newly elected black representative from Utah, Mia Love, and they must not have seen her pic just the R after her name. Yes, I know theyā€™re all returning the money or donating it.

You are so correct. Itā€™s the sickest and the poorest with the highest mortality rate of any state and they want nothing to with ACA. For that they can thank the tea baggers.

Of course youā€™re not. You are a fat, old, white, southern racist, blowhole.

The hate banner, represents exactly who you are! And, that is why it needs to go!

Remember, your side lost!

Barbour isnā€™t offended by any representation of treason or bigotry or discrimination. Heā€™s also not offended with himself after eating 59 ham sandwiches in one sitting.

White southern conservatives would like us to believe that the Confederate flag is a completely benign representation of their southern heritage.

What can be more patriotic than the proud display of the Confederate flag, symbolizing those most revered Southern achievements ā€“ slavery, secession, and segregation ā€“ on all government buildings among Bible Belt states?

Haley Barbour loves the confederate flag and the CCC. From the TPM wayback machine:

Barbour may not be offended by that flag, but decent people are certainly offended by Haley Barbour and his racist views.

Next, photos surfaced of 2004 Republican candidate for governor of Mississippi, Haley Barbour, posing with CCC leaders at a barbecue. Barbour said he wouldnā€™t ask the group to take the pictures down from the councilā€™s site. He won the election, serving until 2012, when he opted not to run for president (in part, the thinking goes, because of his stumbles on issues of race).
