Discussion: Flynn's Access To Classified Information Has Been Suspended

Yeah, I’ve seen some articles/comments on this new form of “balance” popping up.

I have a feeling this sort of reporting is going to be short lived. The scandals breaking loose are going to be too huge for anyone to keep a straight face with this sort of thing (not to mention a simple lack of space to show it). And its going to get to the point that the only place the can find these people will be at KKK rallies and such.

Consider it this way…you are a political reporter…do you want to go dig around to find these people, or do you want to cover a story that is bigger than Watergate be a huge magnitude?

Well kinda of a barm door closed post facto, but a needed move none-the-less.

Agent X: Do you have a preferred airport, Mr. President, or shall we just invite them to tea?

I’d sure like to know why Flynn’s clearance wasn’t yanked (or at least suspended) after the FBI questioned him. They already had the frickin’ transcripts, fer chis’sake.

CIA is fucking it all up for Trump.

As you say, it will likely not last long, but for now, as those French fellows would say, ‘Tres amusant’.

Absolutely!!! His security clearance should have been completely revoked once he was “terminated” at the White House. An inherent qualification for a security clearance is “need to know.” Aside from all his other disqualifications, as a private citizen, Flynn has absolutely no need to know.

I think you can have a security clearance without being employed by gov’t, I think once granted it’s “persistent” unless something happens to revoke it.

So if you’re in gov’t and have security clearance “X” and leave and then come back you don’t need to go through the entire process of getting cleared again.

Or I could be wrong.

Update: My recollection is that people with a security clearance will list it on their resume - gives them an up on applicants who don’t have one if the job requires it.

The BBC does much better investigative reporting.

Off topic, and apologies for that, but … I normally avoid the comments over at Politico because the level of discourse is just abysmal. But I took a peak at the comments on their story about Trump’s coming rally in Florida. The anti-Trump comments are just vicious, and NOBODY is defending him! Well, one lady whose message was basically Trump works eighteen hours a day and she knows for a fact the black guy was just lazy. That’s it! This rally might be very interesting to watch. Hope nobody gets hurt.

Suicide by Intel. There’s no remaining doubt; the man is totally, certifiably bonkers. As well as unutterably stupid. Trump’s Razor again is right on.

He doesn’t know how any of the systems work. He thought he was elected King, not President.

I really think he believes that to be true.

I don’t actually see him doing that; I suspect he’s scared s**tless of Putin, as well as the other premiers who have braced him, like China.

Between podcasts (The Economist, BBC news, Guardian,The Archers (!) , my news feeds (BBC, The Guardian, FT Alphaville) and the only paper I get on my doorstep (The Financial Times), my news life is creepily British. In the car, I listen to Wodehouse audio books.

I do catch NPR in the AM.

I’m saying they would be faking it together to “restore confidence in him” and give Trump a counter-narrative…that’s what “kabuki theater” was meant to indicate.

okay, it’s a start.
I’d rather read " Trumps Access To Classified Information Has Been Terminated"
Now that would make me smile and relieved for the moment.
