What?! Forced abortion IS NOT the same as pro-abortion. They are polar opposites! Forced abortion totally disrespects the woman’s right over her own body! Can you imagine the national outrage this type of action would invoke here in the land of the free?
Most zygotes (fertilized eggs) get flushed down the toilet because they fail to attach to the uterine wall. Pick up a book or use the Google ffs! Being pro-abortion is synonymous with a woman’s right to choose.
Your misreading of this term is a fault of YOURS! Why should I acknowledge your ignorance?
I mentioned “optics.” Now I’ll add “sonics.”
A number of years ago, a young relative of my wife died suddenly. At the funeral, his family told us how they were thinking about donating his organs, but when the doctor mentioned that they’d be “harvested,” they decided against it. They got an image in their heads of a farmer digging things up; not a medical professional carefully removing these organs in order for them to be used to possibly save a life.
I thought it shouldn’t make any difference to them how the procedure was described, but it did. It did, and the organs stayed in the body and got buried in the ground. The end.
Yes, I agree with you. I’m saying that pro-choice is a better-understood term for the position we both advocate. Conservatives frequently use “pro-abortion” as an invective to describe lefties that celebrate the killing of fetuses.
It’s a semantics thing.
The meeting WAS between professionals. Its just that one side was fraudulent. Call this what it is, a SCAM!
You fail to impress or even annoy me eggie.
I stand on my definition of Pro-Abortion. If it’s a new meme that you’re trying to instill in the everyday vernacular then good f’ing luck.
I’ll remain firmly Pro-Choice. And let that be the choice of a woman, not men.
You a sock puppet?
In a world where Republicans actually care about preventing abortion, they’d be funding Planned Parenthood without limit.
Hey, I’m on your side here. They were rat bastards to set her up; selectively edit the film; and suggest criminality which is simply not true.
I dont know if “The video has already had effects in Congress and on the 2016 campaign trail.” is a valid point when its like 8 blowhards who already hate PP just using this as talking point to drum up the base.
Does anyone think two proctologists discussing various ailments they encounter, surgeries they perform would not be nauseating or uncomfortable to listen to over dinner?
C’mon, the pro-rapist rights forced birthers are simply taking their street corner posters of miscarriages (we’ve all seen these sanctimonious, hypocritical religious zealots shoving those gruesome photos down the throats of everyone - including children) to the internet with edited video, seeking and hoping to shock people to their side. That didn’t change opinions, and neither will this.
As another poster mentioned, this is ACORN re-dux: selectively edited video, fake outrage followed by demanding Congress DO SOMETHING!!!, with the ultimate goal of defunding PP and shutting them down. They are the heartless, women and children hating ghouls they try to portray pro-choicers as.
Only if you ignore the context! Don’t be a brick!
…and thanking POTUS Obama for the contraceptive mandate in the PPACA.
As you note, this is not about preventing or making abortions rare.
Look again at 1:32 in the video — which was filmed two seeks shy of a full year!
That means the filmmakers hid the story of multiple federal crimes for an entire year. Dare we say the conspired with Planned Parenthood in a cover-up? In the same week that the military takeover of Texas has begun? Don’t even mention Donald Trump.
Context is for reasonable people, not FOX-pablum spewing conservatives. Don’t adopt their dog whistles and then expect everyone to change their interpretation to yours. Words matter. Insults are not helpful.
This newly awakened person sounds a lot like one of our extinct purity trolls to me.
If I were a more suspicious sort, I’d guess eggie is trying to get commenters to say, “Me! Me! I’m pro-abortion too!” and then use it as proof of liberal decadence.
I’ll give him/her the benefit of a doubt and chalk it up to naiveté.
Oh goody, a red herring.
Not the same as a meeting which one party thought this was a meeting between professionals. One party presented false credentials.
harvest [hahr´vest]
to remove tissues or cells from a donor for transplantation.
There is no excuse in the Internet-age for such blatant ignorance by your wife’s relative. Why did you not attempt to correct this man’s ignorance? In the situation you described, I would.
When I was a kid with a stamp collection, I had a family planning stamp. I thought the federal government approved of Planned Parenthood. How I miss the 1960s-70s.
Thanks for the Gawker link!
I’m interested to know how much money and time these grifters spent trying to get this far, only to rely on false premises and outright deception to make their point?
Well–I know this is no excuse, but–a mother and father mourning the loss of their teenage son in a gruesome car wreck aren’t always open to being corrected like that. They’re obviously stupid mules who get touchy over ridiculous crap, but, you know… I’m sorry I failed to act with the courage of my convictions and tell their ignorant asses off. Hopefully their daughter will be killed sometime soon, and I can get a do-over.
Also, I didn’t say the relative was a man; you seem to have assumed it was.
You appear to be one of those extreme personalities, so I think I’m done responding to your posts.
Good luck in the real world.
