Of course you can second guess them, that’s kind of your job when you are in position of authority. You need to make sure that people are doing their job correctly. Clearly you don’t see that because you aren’t doing yours.

Police are professionals, guys, you can’t question anything they do because obviously they know what’s right and never make mistakes or overreact, got it. Thanks for clearing that up for us, Mr. Mayor.

I’m not gonna take sides here, but it’s hard work pushing people around in full military gear, pointing automatic weapons at them, gassing them, arresting them without cause, and escalating a bad situation into the unfathomable. So I’m willing to cut my police some slack. Need I remind you that they are professionals and therefore faultless. Also, those jobless, single-continent-of-origin protestors deserve this. All of it.

In other words, “I’m not getting involved. If Tear Gas, Flash Bangs and Rubber Bullets are the way the police want to deal with unruly people, so be it.” If the police are the professionals, they should behave like it. They are more interested in using overwhelming force on everyone than dealing with whatever unlawfulness is happening around the protests.
Anyone notice he had nothing to say about how the police have handled the killing?
