Discussion: FEMA Administrator Says San Juan Mayor's Remarks Are 'Political Noise'

I keep wondering who he is related to that got him the job.

Trump probably saw his name on a list submitted and like it. He’s that simple.

Too bad no one gave him STFU and do the actual job you’re supposed to do lessons in his long, distinguished career.

You don’t think explaining to the public what FEMA has been doing and responding to criticisms is part of his job description? Hmmm.

Oh, he’s qualified for the job. That’s not the problem. The problem is a complete lack of interest or desire in helping the people of Puerto Rico. Look at Trump – deliberately withholding from them for nine days access to lifesaving fuel and power.

Long is somewhat limited in his ability to help Puerto Ricans because he doesn’t control the military. But Trump does and Trump knowingly and deliberately withheld military aid. Long is defending that intentional denial of aid, so that tells us the problem with Long is not a lack of competency, but rather a deep character flaw that is manifesting as harm to Puerto Ricans.

Brock Long?

I’d like to meet this guy’s parents.

Or no. I take that back.

Except what he has said that FEMA is doing is not what FEMA is doing, so there’s the lying part. They not criticizing they are reporting what is actually happening on the ground outside the air conditioned conference center and how it related to the reports that Long is giving.

I repeat - this is the first natural disaster I have lived through in 66 years in which the president made it political.

This has never happened before and I hope to god it never happens again.

Do you have examples to justify that assertion?

The same can be said about his remarks.

The night before President Trump’s visit, El Nuevo Dia, the leading newspaper in Puerto Rico, had on its ā€œMinuto a Minutoā€ running updates article, two interesting items. After 950 PM, the PR Water Authority, announced that of the 150 generators they had requested of FEMA, 5 had been delivered. At 10 PM, FEMA had responded that this was not true, that 7 or 8 had been delivered and ā€œ5 more would be on the way.ā€ This is two weeks out. This item was removed from the running updated article at midnight and I wonder if it was to avoid creating controversy and inconvenient questions for Trump and Long and their entourage during Snowflake’s press availability.

3.4 million Americans are suffering under horrific conditions because Prez tiny hands can’t bear any criticism. That is NOT just ā€œpolitical noiseā€, sir, and you are a ā€˜deplorable’ ass for saying so.

Puerto Rico isn’t a scorecard, it isn’t a foreign nation, they aren’t ā€œluckyā€ and they aren’t having ā€œa good timeā€ and it is the TRUMP administration making politics out of misery.

Dear Mayor Cruz,

You got to that son of a bitch (Trump that is). Good for you!

It is obvious that it is burning and he is sending out his Proxy once again to attempt to demolish her. When a person can make a Narcissist like that itch that long, it is a good day.

Well, it’s definitely a ā€œfiltering outā€. If only they were as good at filtering actual drinking water.

That is much the same as how I feel…

Any mayor of a major city would have done the same as Mayor Cruz, she was advocating for her city’s residents. She just had the misfortune to do it while being female and brown.
