I’ll be honest, I teared a little during his speech.
I didn’t think anything could top last night but, every speaker tonight has knocked it out of the park.
A very patriotic speech that should make Trump ashamed of himself.
Truly Extraordinary. I was moved!
I saw the speech by Khizr Khan and he gave a very powerful speech. If Trump saw this speech, I’m certain he exploded into a serious rage. The next day or two should reveal Trump’s reaction to this speech as we all know that the thin-skinned big mouth will have a very hard time answering any reporter’s questions on this subject.
I cried. The dignity of these two people was overwhelming. Listening to the Father was both heart breaking and heart warming, and I am glad they are in my country.
I saw American parents who lost a veteran son. Having lost two family members - one each in Iraq and Afghanistan - i know what such a loss means. It was good to see the crowd acknowledge service and sacrifice; not "what is your religion?’
Short fingered Donnie would probably, just want to hit him, and probably Tammy Duckworth too, but he really is a coward and they would back him down in a heart beat.
I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should
attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming.
But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may
be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.
I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your
bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved
and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so
costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,
A. Lincoln
Gotta say that moved me to tears. It was extremely powerful.
USA!
This. Man. Was. Awesome.
Looks like somebody got told!
How long till some Asshole® complains that the guy didn’t renounce “radical Islam”? This guy is going to bring all the brown out of the shirts.
For me it was the quiet dignity and pride of the mother. His words moved me, especially his offer to let Trump borrow his copy of the Constitution (I lol’d), but the mom’s quiet dignity got to me for some reason. It was a good moment. Also it was a pretty damn good strategic move that turned out really well having them speak.
For me it was the whole thing. I was pierced to the core by their dignity and their love for this country.
Have we ever had a better convention than this one?
Thank you Mr & Mrs Khan.
"“Have you ever been to Arlington Cemetery? Go look at the graves of
brave patriots who died defending the United States of America. You will
see all faiths, genders, and ethnicities,” Khan continued. “You have
sacrificed nothing and no one.”
I was half-listening to the convention on the radio as I was trying to replace a doorknob (not a metaphor), and when I heard this man I literally gasped. Couldn’t continue. This for me was the high point in a convention of high points.
I think this was the strongest moment in the convention. Verbally and visually. They were extraordinary.
I don’t think so. I think it’s just been brilliant and pretty incredible.
