Discussion: Fate Of Trump Foundation Could Be Decided At Thursday Hearing

Underwood’s office has asked for $2.8 million in restitution and that the charity be dissolved entirely. Trump would be barred from serving on any New York non-profit for 10 years, and his eldest children for one year each.

that’s it?

I need jail time for these shit birds.

Donald Trump lies all the time about everything. He can barely wait to settle after everybody agrees that caving in isn’t losing.

I give so much money, so much money, to charity. People are suckers for children, you know. I mean, I give children suckers.

And he’ll frame it as the Democrats viciously putting a stop to all the wonderful charity work he’s done, simply out of their spitefulness.

Better watch out for your mail the next couple of weeks, AG Underwood and Judge Scarpulla.

The judge should never dismiss this case. The evidence against the Toadglans Clan uncovered by David Farenthold is already enough to “convict” them. Worse, the judge would be denying Americans of some of the funnest discovery ever.

If it proceeds it is going to be a lot more than “embarrassing” to the entire Cockholster Crime Family.

On second thought, Are shameless, conscienceless grifters capable of feeling embarrassment?

I’d love for a lawyer here to weigh in on the merits of the various positions. Is the promise of a candidate for AG to aggressively pursue a public figure’s perceived misdeeds a special case in which bias is less of a problem? Even if it isn’t, does it matter that this foundation was obviously being grossly abused by the Trumps as an illegal slush fund for any bill they didn’t feel like paying themselves? Once the media showed that, the legal system immediately shut it down. There just seems to be a lot militating against dismissing this action. I understand the Trumps’ reluctance to tacitly admit wrongdoing, because that’s a thing their snow-white innocent selves never really like to do, but legally just quietly making this go away would seem to be the best move.

'The cop doesn’t like me so you can’t prosecute me for my crimes ’ is the gist of the Trump argument.

Trump rarely does anything quietly. Not when every move to uncover the truth about him represents an opportunity to solidify his base.

Isn’t Futerfas more of a mob lawyer? Defending a slush fund charity doesn’t seem to be his thing.

I’ve noticed that, but he’s also a big wuss. He loudly and longly brayed that he wouldn’t settle the Trump University suit, until he did.

I suppose that’s the opening bid for a settlement.

If the case goes to trial it is likely that higher penalties will be sought. Or at least I would hope so.

Trump’s Foundation foundation is built on sand.

On behalf of all us gals who struggle to be recognized for our work contributions, can you PLEASE include Ms. Ivanka in the picture for this article? So tired of her not getting full credit for all her gifting talent that we recognize her brothers for.

so much worry about something they claim is a nothingburger

if you did nothing wrong, you could easily say, “there’s nothing there and the AG is going to be seriously embarrassed when the truth comes out, wait until I get my turn in civil court…”
