Discussion for article #242825
Well, at least now I know what arrondissement is. Sad way to have to find out though. Had to look it up.
Three different events. Shootings and explosions. Early numbers are 18 dead.
What do Dr. Carson’s private intelligence sources say?
(Cable just reported “at least 26 dead” via AP)
Quite. This demonstrates the stakes.
Does anyone really want a nincompoop who is so conceited he thinks he knows what is going on in Syria by sticking his head up his ass? The talk of private intelligence is truly idiotic.
Jihadi John incineration confirmation with a fast turn-around revenge counterattack?
Must be because of all the troops France has stationed in the middle east. /s
I never realized how little Brian Williams actually knows until he was put on MSNBC and trotted out on these breaking news stories. Without a script this guy is a worthless. He’s just another in a long line of speculation-mongers. Anyone can read a wire report I would argue. How about we just wait for the facts?
If its breaking news you can count on Williams now being rolled out in some Hermann Miller chair to make his weekly quotient of breaking news content, which everyone knows was deliberately written into his contract to remain relevant. The mothership at MSNBC is already going straight to whatever Bushies they can snatch up for their fucking buildup for a weekend of boogeyman terrorism freakout. Chertoff is on now and he’s going straight to “I told you so”. Fuck this. Just give us the fucking news.
Now I hear they’re up to 26 dead. Horrible.
I hope someone realizes the psyop value of robot dogs…specially if they bite.
Okay, now we know that the Good Guy With a Gun is not in France, either.
CNN reports 18 dead.
No unlikely to be something you could throw together in 24 hours. Likely to be a coincidence.
French police now report 35 dead, 100 hostages at concert
MSNBC is now showing up to 35 dead from an updated AP report they received.
Does this speak to the terrorists or the French security?
(Brian does have a thing for the obvious…)
As we all know early casualty reports are usually on the low side. With a Concert Hall being held hostage, this could last days. May not end well.
Well how much security would you expect to have a concert? Or the restaurant? You can’t make everything a hard target.
No, I’m thinking more the movement of the weapons and explosives…
God help them. The French antiterrorism forces are professionals, and they’ll do their best to save them, but they’re not gentle. Those hostages are between the hammer and the anvil.
An arondissement is to Paris what a borough is to New York City. The 10th is where the Gare du Nord and Gare de I Est train stations and the Saint Martin Canal are located. Lots of restaurants, but not the best area to walk around at night.
