This is getting really sick. I wouldn’t want to live in Indiana, anyway, but if I chose to do so there’s nothing the state government can do about it. Can the states legally get away with this? – Anyone? I’m saying NO, they can’t … but I’m unfamiliar with the nation’s laws dealing with refugees.

As a native Hoosier, you can bash the man and his politics all you want, but lay off the state as a whole. There are a lot of decent people there who disagree with him entirely.

Oh, sure. However, living in Indiana is no party. Seriously, though: From a legal standpoint, does he have a leg on which to stand? Yeah, he can cause there to be some dragging-out of the social services administered in his state but sooner or later, they’d have to follow-through on any services that are available by law to any other person(s) in the same situation.
That said, I wouldn’t wish to go to any state where there is that much hostility toward me and my kind. I feel sorry those folks have been met with such idiocy. I’m glad Connecticut has opened its arms. I wish them well.
