Discussion: Fake NYT Article Circulated Showing Warren Endorsing Clinton

Discussion for article #246650

She won’t issue an endorsement until after MA. And probably won’t until after Hillary has it sewn up. She doesn’t have to and why take any risk at all if you don’t have to?

I saw the fake story last night, and was amazed at how authentic it looked. I even clicked on a couple of other story links on the page and went to actual NYT stories.

Someone on another site said that the hoaxer took a Chris Christie story as a template, scrubbed the text, and inserted the “story.” Apparently there was a clue at the bottom – a one-line reference to the original Christie story.

The story also included a quote from “disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner,” who is married to a top Hillary aide.

I assume there’s some way to maynbe track down who created this forgery?

Meanwhile, so many American being so gullible, how many people fell for this?

“…a website already in existing.”

What is that you’re saying?

Ratfucking at its finest. I smell the GOP.

Shows desperation — Not good for Bernie’s image at all —

He should get out in front of this —

Probably had nothing to do with his campaign, actually.

Far too many.

Or clueless Bernie supporters who think they are helping.

Or conniving Hillary supporters knowing how it would look.

Most likely not —

He still needs to address it right away —

Clone Zone, open to 1% seed money and to being a possible GOP lifeboat, has a full-grown alpha male ripening in a warming tank…

That cloning site is meant for the design of the website, not impersonating. I am curious whether NYT will sue.

Edit: Ah, cease and desist…

That could be the precursor to a suit. We’ll see I suppose. They really should…that kind of thing is damaging to a brand.

And once again we have a Sanders supporter who can not even fathom the possibility that other Sanders supporters may have been wrong. I emphasize “may” though. It is the thought process that is troubling.

Get this fundamentally straight: When Bernie specifically said “Either you are a progressive or you are not” he directly and personally insulted the vast majority of the voting populace who are progressive on some issues, moderate on others, and even conservative on some more. Many will not forget that insult to intellect. The difference is that Hillary supporters will still support Bernie if he happens to win the nomination. Meanwhile there are petitions going around for Bernie supporters to swear they won’t vote for Hillary regardless, thereby helping the GOP to elect Trump and make the SCOTUS a far-right court. That alone speaks volumes. Sadly.

Not that Clinton ever said so, while Bernie has been quite explicit on this point.

Yawn. Slow news day apparently. Nothing newsworthy, like perhaps a primary election or two…

Elizabeth Warren should sue. She has the right to endorse whom she wants when she wants to.
