Discussion: Ex-NSA Head: Others Would Be Detained Over Trump's '2nd Amendment' Line

Citation please. I haven’t seen this reported anywhere. Or did you watch the speech?

There really isn’t any way for us to know if the Secret Service talks to him or not because he has Secret Service protecting him. Maybe they are doing the talking?

Been there too, you nailed it.

They ought to take away his Secret Service protection detail. He doesn’t deserve them. Plus, having our tax payer dollars protecting him with the men and women of the SS while he essentially is making incitements to violence that any other person would have been investigated over, is simply crazy on top of what’s already crazy.

Hes an intelligent man and depending on who’s asked (Rudy),he can be very charming.

What gets me riled up is that he thinks that the playbook that beat a Bush is going to knock off a Clinton.

In what world…

After King Henry: Is there no one who will rid me of this troublesome candidate?

His campaign has since argued that he was referring to the political power of Second Amendment supporters.

And I’m Queen of All the Russias…what a load of complete and utter bull. But then, this is coming from Trump. I expect nothing else.

Called “superficial charm” – one of the oft-cited characteristics of a sociopath.

No kidding. Have no love for the man, but when he’s right, he’s right.

Christina Wilkie from HuffPo live tweeted today’s “speech” (yes, it does need the quotation marks…) and she sent that out during the event.

One guy just yelled “Kill her! Kill her!” at the Trump rally in NC.

Just another example of Trump and the effects of Altizheimers taking effect. No political candidate in their right mind would make such a sta. Tement.

I think you missed a “t” in cunning, otherwise well said

She is a Huffington Post National Political Reporter who was at the rally today.

This charm can be seductive, too.

They [people with anti-social personality disorder] are often unable to maintain close relationships for any length of time. Despite these anti-social behaviors, people with the disorder can be temporarily charming and seductive in order to manipulate others.

And frankly, there are some women out there who marry a whack if $$ comes with him.

I remember when Bush the Elder came to speak at the University when he was Prez. The Secret Service basically shut down the entire campus, which meant shutting down most of downtown. They even had every manhole cover welded down to prevent any surreptitious movement through sewers and utility lines. And this was long before 9/11.

Point being, the Secret Service doesn’t take any chances that they don’t have to take. (Well, at least not back then…there have certainly been some pretty high profile lapses lately on the part of individual agents.)

At any rate, I’m guessing that the folks on Hillary’s Secret Service detail are especially pissed off at Trump right now – seeing as how his incitement is putting their lives in danger too.

Still, I bet most of them wouldn’t trade places with the poor bastards guarding Trump’s fat ass. To have to listen to that windbag day after day – pretty sure I’d prefer not just risk of death, but actual death.

Ah… glad it was just one. Your first mention of it made me think “Lock her up” had been converted to “Kill her!” by the whole crowd. Goes to show you that at least one person was listening and paying attention. It would be nice to know if there’s any audio or video of it.

“I used to tell my seniors at the CIA, you get to a certain point in this business, you’re not just responsible for what you say, you are responsible for what people hear,” Hayden said on CNN.

There are always three messages involved in every attempt at communication:

  1. The message we intended to send.
  2. The message we actually send.
  3. The message that is received.

I can almost accept that Dishonest Don intended to send a message about voting. But there can be no question that the message actually sent was about extra-electoral action. To send a message about electoral action the comment about Second Amendment people must precede the statement about the judges he believes Clinton will nominate. The message that was received depends on the recipient – but it’s also undeniable that many listeners got the message that Dishonest Don sent.

Once again, Drumpf’s predilection for improvised speech leads him down a rathole. As Maurice Switzer said,

It is better to remain silent at the risk of being thought a fool, than to talk and remove all doubt of it.

Dishonest Don would be well-advised to reflect on Switzer’s advice.
