Discussion: Ex-GOP Lawmaker Joe Walsh: Nunes Is ‘Chair Of Trump’s Reelection Campaign’

Trump: Loser Walsh keeps getting sued for child support paymetns… sad.

When Joe “Deadbeat Dad” Walsh says something remotely perceptive, you know the end of days is, like, tomorrow?

He isn’t the sharpest tack in the box, but he is smart enough to be able to look down the road and see where this leads. And its not going to be pleasant place for the GOP.

This is going to be weaker than any faux scandal that perpetrated against Obama, and its going to quickly fall apart under scrutiny. As some have indicated, the real value for Nunes in this has been the lead up…the actual memo is going to make him a laughing stock.

Oh…and as an added bonus…the GOP has now made enemies of thousands of career DoJers and FBI agents. Even people like Walsh have enough survival instinct to know that isn’t a good idea.

Not that I have a problem with Cons eating their own but how does a ‘deadbeat dad’ go from being bankrupt to a net worth of $75 MILLION in a few years???

Just like Gowdy “retiring”: it’s the who rather than the what. When a young, ambitious Congressman, who won overwhelmingly in his district decides it’s not worth it, something is definitely amiss. Gowdy had HUGE ambition - hence, selling his soul for his Benghazi performance - and had been considered for House leadership. These guys would rather go quietly into the night than utter one word of decency and stand up for what’s right. They do know the difference.

It’s a political calculation now of how much personal damage you risk by staying with the program. The smarter ones who have options are deciding to get out of Dodge. But when the dust settles they might be back. So for now, no frank statements about what the more cowardly are countenancing. They’re much too weaselly for that.

You need to trademark this pronto.

Since Gowdy is the only one other than Schiff who read the underlying documents for “the Memo” maybe he thought this whole thing is going downhill fast? I know he’s a rabid partisan but he has a legal background. It does stand out to me that he 1–reads the material 2–votes to release anyway (to stay in the good graces of Republicans for future judicial appointments*) 3 hears, with everyone else strong pushback from FBI and DOJ 4–Decides he’s outta here.

*Apparently there’s a federal judge seat opening in South Carolina.

It’s always been “party over country,” but at some point, they have to start thinking about “party over failing president.” It seems to be just a tad easier for those who have (a) left Congress, or (b) are about to leave and/or die.

Well not paying child support and RWNJ welfare, the right doesn’t mind welfare as long it goes to the “special people.”

Which would this give the Republicans in Congress the impetus to start planning their own Presidential path instead of waiting in line?

I agree on Gowdy. Its freaking South Carolina, and the seat has been reliably republican for a long, long time. Gowdy himself consistently wins by 2:1 margins or bigger. And you are correct, he is a very ambitious man. His retirement makes little sense.

On a side note, there are 3 Democrats vying for the seat, and though nobody has stepped up yet on the republican side (obviously), there are 3 names that have already indicated a willingness to run. That all points to an expensive election. Nor is it only in that District. The GOP, which is not doing well fund raising, is going to be stretched thin all across the country trying to defend seats.

My guess is, this is probably one of the bigger reasons so many GOPers are resigning…they know they are facing a big wave election, and they know the money just isn’t going to be there for them…even someone like Gowdy.

That seems to be what Jeff Flake is up to. Good luck with that, though–he still has to win over the Trumpista base.

I thought “You Lie” was Zell Miller? But Joe Walsh is a jibbering, uncommonly bald-faced white supremacist deadbeat dad so, y’know, not necessarily one I’d expect to cross Dear Leader.

Joe Walsh as the voice of reason? We really are living in an alternate reality!

If this is all for Nunes brown nosing. Jeez. Nah, there has to be more. He couldn’t be that stupid.

Look, Joe. I’ll make it real simple. Just stay over there with your deadbeat dad friends and whine. We don’t want you over here with the respectable people and we aren’t interested in ANYTHING you have to say.

This is stunning, as former congressman Joe Walsh was one of the STUPIDEST congressmen ever, and washed out after only a term or two. Generally his writing and broadcasting are pure right-wing gibberish, but EVEN HE’S HAD ENOUGH!

Remarkable stuff.

Before anyone gets too carried away with this guy Joe Walsh sounding all reasonable, do not forget this is the same former Rep Joe Walsh who served up steaming plates of vitriol for President Obama on a daily basis and was part of the toxic takeover of the GOP. So excuse me while I pump the brakes and remain most dubious about his recent bout of “sounding reasonable” Joe Walsh is why we are where we are today. Never forget that. Love the Rehabilitation Tour that he is on, but I am not buying the b.s. for one wing nut second. Besides, is there any doubt that Joe Walsh would be doing exactly what Trump stooge, Devin Nunes is doing right now if he had paid child support and was still in DC? Of course he would.
