Discussion: Ex-GOP Lawmaker Joe Walsh: Nunes Is ‘Chair Of Trump’s Reelection Campaign’

Jimmy Breslin wrote a great, prescient book about this administration- ‘The Gang That Couldn’t Shoot Straight’. So, GOP- how’s this Trump thingy workin’ out for ya?

Run for office- the 2018 elections are 10 months away! And if Trump and Louie Gohmert and Steve King can get elected what’s to stop a qualified candidate?

Become a Precinct Committee Officer, sometimes it’s a Ward officer. You’ll meet with neighborhood Dems and get out the vote. Find good citizens willing to run for office.

Register people to vote. If you need to help people overcome the GOP-led Voter run-around help them do that.

Run for School Board. Make sure Civics is being properly taught. Think a majority of America knows how government works? Just 26% of eligible voters in America voted for Trump and half of eligible voters stayed home last November. Today’s 12-year olds will be voting for President in 8 years.

Run for Mayor, City Council, County Commissioner, Borough Assembly.

Get appointed to your Planning Commission. Know everything going on in your community.

Run for State Legislature or Congress. The next census is in 2020, just a year and a half from now, when we redraw Congressional Districts. And Trump is ALREADY trying to rig the census!

And get rid of GERRYMANDERING! Safe GOP seats gave us such intellectual giants as Louie Gohmert and Steve King. In most cases it’s the state Legislature that draws Congressional boundaries. Make it FAIR, OPEN and HONEST! We can do this!

Overturn Citizens United. Money is NOT speech and Corporations are NOT people- at least not until Texas executes one, and overturn any voter ID laws that are clearly an attempt to disenfranchise the poor and people of color.

That hellish red demonic glow they all give off does tend to obscure their features.

Why do Republican’ts hate law enforcement? Aren’t you either with law enforcement or with the criminals? And why aren’t Democrats hitting them on this hypocrisy? Oh, yeah, that’s right. My Party is in the business of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory…

I think your second question answers your first.

I appreciate the candor from a totally unpredictable quarter.

But, can we refrain from introducing him as
Nationally syndicated conservative radio host and former congressman Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL)

He is no longer a sitting congressman. If we are going to reference his congressional status can we also reference that he served a single term of TWO years?

Does Nationally Syndicated mean anything other than he is one of dozens of right wing talk show hosts that boring and irrelevant local AM radio stations choose to carry? There is no merit or prestige associated with National Syndication, is there? There are dozens of assholes like Mark Levin, Dennis Miller and the dead Robert Ciro Gigante (who anglicized his name to Grant to appeal to the white bigots who hated Italians back when he began his shit career) who are nationally syndicated.

You lie!!! /snark

You’re welcome - I just asked admin to add something in the article to distinguish between the two Joe W’s so readers won’t continue to be confused.

Putin: And I am proud.
Trump: Me too!!

Nunes is the chair of Trump’s reelection campaign? While tongue and cheek, I don’t believe there is any law against a person who is in jail for obstruction running for POTUS. I doubt there is any law stating the reelection chair for that campaign cannot be sitting in federal prison. It’s all good because Republicans are so proud of their corrupt-boy Trump, they’ll still support him even as he takes this country for a mind-numbing ride into lawlessness and mass chaos.

FWIW, I was thinking something similar. Both the, “I wish they’d shouted ‘you lie’ (as, in this case, it would be true)” and the, “Was Joe Walsh the guy who did that…?” That said, he looks a little different than my fuzzy recollection of Whitey McShouty.

And trying to keep himself out of jail while he’s at it. Too bad he’s failing

A classic conservative trifecta.

Nunes is about as sharp as a bag of wet mice–and I’ve seen three-card-monte hucksters with better ethics and a higher sense of morality.

I miss Jimmy Breslin. Sigh.

@saraf Nope. But I can see how you might think I had confused them. Isn’t there an old saying regarding conservatives lying in the dark - oh, no. that’s cats. :grinning:

Why do you think Noted Zippy the Pinhead stand in and BENGHAZI!!! obsessed Congressman Trea Gowdy has decided
“I’m outa here”
No one leaves congress unless they think there is zero chance of reelection or high chance of indictment.
He read all the intel and said “Oh shit” This administration is going to implode

Yup. And it can’t happen fast enough, as far as I am concerned…

I’d say it is but the news is more in the who than the what. Just in media reports this morning there’s a whole bunch of absolutely devastating developments for the effort to pretend there aren’t profound, historical, inescapable pathologies going on with this administration. It’s clearly beyond the capacity of anyone but the desperate and deluded to think it can be fended off or contained. It’s like when a deorbiting satellite gets so hot that the outer chunks begin to peel off. This guy is rabidly partisan. But evidently there’s a rational, maybe even patriotic thread running through him that can see this for what it is. What’s going on is indefensible in the strict sense—only the aforementioned desperate and deluded are still trying.

It’s as if Hitler had stepped up to the podium in Nuremberg and said, “You know, the Jews aren’t really such bad people.” Well, almost.

Yes, the Joe Walsh in the article is the loon who, in October 2016, tweeted thusly:

On November 8th, I’m voting for Trump.

On November 9th, if Trump loses, I’m grabbing my musket.

You in?

Where’s his “musket” today, I wonder?

Well…i guess that it’s good that a right winger is saying this. But it would help if it was one whose opinion anyone gave a shit about.

I’m guessing Walsh’s fox appearances are going bye bye now.
