Speak only in court? So, if no charges planned, let the target twist in the wind forever?

Uh, that or I’m outta here. Talk quietly among yourselves. I got work to do.

Presumably this means there is no “ongoing investigation.”

  1. The investigation is now concluded.

  2. It’s received substantial publicity with a lot of accusations about it being unfairly biased in favor of Clinton, and there’s a need to explain to the public exactly how it was conducted, just as outlined in paragraph B of the rules.

He thinks this is an example of Clinton getting “worse treatment than anyone else would”? I see it as helping her, by clarifying exactly why they’re not bringing charges.

Oh FFS! Can Dems ever take ‘yes’ for an answer?! Lynch pretty much made this a necessity, didn’t she? Am I missing something?

Comey is a Republican. What did anyone expect?

The DOJ should have made the announcement. Comey is not a prosecutor. He makes his findings available to prosecutors.

Who is being 'extremely careless.?

That’s the job of the DOJ, not the FBI.

Hillary leads such a charmed life it’s as if some form of Divine Intervention is helping her. Do we really want to interfere with God’s apparent wishes?

There’s a HorseRace to be run.

There are mortgages to be paid
There are kids to send to college
There are club memberships to be renewed
There are stockholders to be placated

So many problems. How can they survive?

This just proves 25 years of bullshit spewed at the Clintons isn’t worth the time to talk about.

Agreed - he went far beyond what was called for or fair. His commentary on whether she was “careless” or not and commentary on numbers of emails “sent or received” by her “or her staff” and things she knew “or should have known” leaves a lot of room for spin and misinformation with Hillary having no ability to defend herself since she presumably does not have access to the information that he is basing his conclusions on. She should get immediate access to any reports that he is using to base his (frankly, irrelevant) allegations on so she can rebut if he has gotten anything wrong or was not specific enough.

Please prepare your resignation letter dated Nov 3, 2016, shithead.

I’m assuming that when he says Clinton receives “worse treatment than everyone else” he means “better treatment” in the way normal people think of it, but “worse” in that the DOJ behaved poorly in its official capacity. Otherwise I’m confused.

Oh… I guess he’s friendly to Hillary and is complaining about the fact that the FBI director added his remarks about how she was incredibly careless with classified info? I need things black and white, dammit… is he friend or foe?

Perhaps the DOJ (Loretta Lynch) decided it was better to let the Republican Director of the FBI deliver this message. You do realize that the FBI is part of the DOJ, don’t you? And you do realize that the Director of the FBI works for the Attorney General, don’t you?

His going into any detail was unnecessary and very unusual. There was no need to do it and his position certainly did not call for him to do it and he should not have done it. It almost seemed as though he had to say something to help sooth the butthurt of the Rightie Republican howler monkeys…and that was uncalled for and wrong. Andrea Mitchell just stammered through 15 minutes of: “The shadow is still hanging over Clinton.” “There are still major concerns here according to Comey.” “Clinton will have to continue to answer questions”…blah, blah, blah.

It’s infuriating.

If you need a pick-me-up, wander over to Fox and read the comments of the baggergeoisie. Quite amusing.

Three thoughts. I Comey is a Republican. 2 Clinton is running for President of the United States. The email server scandal was invented at the New York Times and prosecuted by the cable networks. It was never a story, but was blown into one by the press. It is fitting that it end with a press conference. 3 Sometimes rules need to be broken.
