wah … wah … wah
the farce is strong with this one…
He was always going to call her careless and say she showed poor judgment (he is,as noted above, a Republican). If he hadn’t done this press conference, he would have leaked his recommendations, including editorial remarks, to the press after delivering them to Lynch. It would have gotten out in some form.

He also suggested that Comey’s announcement violated DOJ rules about disclosing information about ongoing investigations.[/quote]
Huh? Seems like the whole point of this announcement is that it’s NOT an ongoing investigation anymore, right?
Trey Gowdy: I need to investigate the investigation by Comey.
Comey: I am a Republican.
In other words, the FBI’s job is to decide whether a crime might have been committed, not to express their personal views about a person’s conduct. It was inappropriate, but I don’t expect Clinton to push back on that aspect of it.
Isn’t Comey basically just a cop?
If the police investigate me on some matter, and I don’t end up getting charged with anything, since when can the chief of police stand up and make a speech about all the bad things I did?
What am I missing here?
You aren’t missing anything. Comey basically just used his job to advance political goals.
As the gentleman is a former spokesman, he doesn’t really have much to offer the conversation now.
Another false scandal leveled at the Clintons. We’ve never seen this before now, have we?
Comey’s statement, we won’t t prosecute but… evidence of potential violations… mishandled…blah blah… implies she broke the law but got away with it because she is so skilled at deception. He had no business saying more than that they were not prosecuting.
stevie: you are starting to sound like cruz’s daddy.
Wow, hero of the Clintonistas one moment to zero the next. Literally, everyone here went from singing his praises this morning on another thread to trashing him on this one this afternoon.
Oh officer, sure I was speeding, but it was not intentional, all good right? I’m with her.
Rarely does the FBI take the step of trashing the so called target when there are no charges. Almost as though someone was trying to give the Right some talking points.
First, Rumpublicans still confuse Secretary Clinton with a small-s secretary, whose rightful place in their universe would be to answer and dial a rotary phone, or perhaps even plug cables in and out a switchboard.
Second, Cabinet Secretaries need 21st century mobile communication tools that are usable and secure.
Third, it should be much, much harder for everyone from Mr. Snowden, Private Manning and General Petraeus to hand over the keys to everyone’s kingdom on a laptop or USB drive.
Hillary Clinton should be the one in front of this by making the case to make the badly needed improvements.
And the media is already singing how terrible this will be for Clinton. None are saying Comey’s comments were out of line. Chris over at WAPost loves to use the “Hillary Clinton’s email problems might be worse than we thought”. I think he used that same headline a few days ago.
Apparatchik?
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why you don’t appoint Republicans to positions within a Democratic administration, ever. We all know Republicans put party above country, truth, everything we hold dearest. At the first opportunity they will stab you in the back, you can bank on it. Any failures on their part will be the fault of the president who appointed them, we have seen it over and over.
When, fingers crossed, Hillary takes the oath on Jan. 20, I hope this lesson in faux bipartisanship will have sunk in, once and for all. If she indeed wins, the people will have voted for her and, by extension, Democrats, not for Republicans in positions of power. So let Dems assume full control and take responsibility if they screw up, but entrusting Republicans with anything is a recipe for disaster. They will not be grateful, they will not compromise. How many times do we have to see these disgraceful farces before we wise up?
