Discussion: Ex-Ambassador To Israel: Huckabee Remark Similar To 'Incitement' That Led To Yitzhak Rabin Assassination

No one ever discusses the threat to Iran from Pakistan’s nukes falling into the hands of Sunni extremists. It’s not all about Israel.

Governor Destroytheharddrives (AKA Whatemails?) is not a real candidate. This is padding his resume for his next gig. The more vile and savage he is the better off is next paypacket will be. He is right about one thing, there was a president who was a traitorous half-wit dog who had dealings with the Iranians, he’s in Hell and his partner in crime is getting closer to joining him every day.

James Fallows has a column up in The Atlantic where he cited a large number of people – former Israel Ambassadors, State and Defense Department secretaries and undersecretaries, former IAEA head Hans Blix, former and current Israeli military and intelligence officials, etc. who support this deal.

Thanks for the link; I read him regularly and saw his last piece on the deal, but hadn’t seen this one yet. A typically terrific one, with far more than just that list, though that’ll probably be the most compelling section for a few people I’ll send it to. It’d be nice if just a few of the folks on his list would get interviewed on the broadcast networks or CNN. Or as Fallows puts it:

Every American has seen and read the literally cartoonish fulminations of Netanyahu against the deal (see below). How about more coverage of the Israeli defense professionals making the opposite case?

It’d also be nice if that positive PPP poll on public opinion (and PPP’s as solid a pollster as there is) would get half the coverage the other one’s been getting. But it does give me a little more hope for the deal’s political prospects and the aftermath. I think it’s important that Obama get far more than just the votes necessary to sustain his veto – the closer to a solid bloc of Dems (and ideally at least a few Republicans), the better, IMHO. At first I was worried about the opposition’s having 60 instead of 30 days to campaign against the deal; but after the way the first couple weeks have gone, I’m glad the Administration has the extra time for their allies on this to be heard. Thanks again for the link.

Remember the anti-Rabin rally’s in Israel that pre-dated his Assassination. Bibi would show up and goad the masses as they held up signs with a picture a Rabin superimposed on Arafats head. Quite foul. To this day he has never been held to account.

Caitlin, Who is Huchabee? Some place you’re going to sort of keep your pet rabbit? Also, an easy way to remember how to spell Hitler’s first name is that Hitler was a fuck, hence Adolf, with an f.

I meant to add that there are two interesting resources that could help you get the information correct: a dictionary and the Internet.

Of course in a normal setting, Huckabee should have never even said what he did. It wasn’t a slip though as he is just looking for headlines and to gain in popularity, even if it is only with the dregs that enjoy such bombast and ridiculousness.
This is craven and the Huckster basically just puts his already sold out soul on sale. I don’t know that this changes the perception of Huck one iota but it does cement him into the clown collection solidly. I’m absolutely positive that he knows the damage that this does to him on a credibility level but also knows that all he has to gain is book sales or TV appearances, the Presidency was never a real goal.

Crazier than the class clown Trump is now the job of the 2nd tier and lower candidates. Trump has caused this and they are all guilty. Now we get to hear the serious policy talk of Walker, Rubio and Bush. Of course, they are way off base too but compared to the Trump parade even bad policy is something and won’t lose as bad. So they have that going for them.
