Discussion: Everything You Need To Know About Tonight's Fox News GOP Debate

Discussion for article #246821

The debate comes before a slew of contests in Kansas (that’s Trump’s), Louisiana (Cruz’s), Maine (Trump’s), and Kentucky (Trump’s) on Saturday, Puerto Rico (Push) on Sunday, and Hawaii (Trump), Idaho (Push), Michigan (Trump), and Mississippi (Trump) on Tuesday.

adjusted to fit those three days…

I will watch briefly, just to see if Trump loses it. (Not the debate, but his cool.)

Rehearsal for tonight’s debate:

I have one question I want answered tonight, given that Trump is clearly the front runner, and based on polling, has a very good chance at becoming the nominee.

What about his businesses?

Turning them over to his wife and/or children is laughable, it does nothing to remove the considerable conflicts of interests that are in play. And given that so much of his holdings are tied up in very high profile pieces of real estate, the “blind trust” arrangement isn’t feasible either.

And, though I know FOX won’t follow up with this, bear in mind that the man is literally paying himself to run for President right now at unprecedented levels. He and his staff fly his airlines exclusively…paying the airlines. They stay at Trump properties. They eat at Trump restaurants. Hell, even his campaign payroll is being handled by his Trump payroll company…which is being paid to do so. All of this has already been dug up by reviewing his campaign’s expenses. So he is quite literally taking money from his campaign and paying it to his own businesses. And nobody is saying “boo” about it.

There will be Unintelligible Yelling, sponsored by Fox News and WWE.

Friday Morning, 3/4/2016, Edited to Add, after the debate:

Well, that comment is looking pretty damn prescient this morning.

Six months ago, there were 17 debaters. Now there are four. The good news? At this rate, by July it will be zero.

And here are. If you look back at the predictions by now we should be down to Walker, Kasich, Rubio and Christe…the so called establishment candidates. The other riff raff was to be gone. 2 are left. One on the way out ( Kasich ) in 2 weeks or so and one that will probably hang on to the end because he’s got nothing else going on.

And the riff raf it will be. The GOP can make a “choice” from Cruz or Trump. You’ve come a long way baby.

I’ll watch the video clips posted on liberal blogs.

He’s a lot of things but Ill bet he’s to clever to do that. The time calls for a change. Sober. Knowledgeable. And a good line of shit. He can do that.

That won’t be an issue to the media. I don’t remember Mitt Romney distancing himself from Bain capital.

It’s funny how ALL these GOPists are calling Trump a fraud. But why do the people who are supporting Trump going against the “real” Republicans? Don’t they think they’re…?

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson said Wednesday he would not attend the debate and sees no “path forward” for his campaign, but did not formally drop out of the race.

And the most interesting thing about that is, it will likely lead to his best debate performance to date.

So apparently the deep thinking at TPM believes listing who while show up and what primaries are scheduled this weekend is everything we need to know about the debate.

Very insightful.

Given the proximity, will any of the FoxBots ask them about the role of Gov. Snyder and his privatization of Flint management in the ongoing water debacle? If the issue in Flint does not come up tonight, then the charges of the GOP being racist are spot on and the suggestion that Fox is Fair/Balanced… well that never was reality.

Could be very interesting tonight, considering Megyn Kelly will be moderating and after Romney’s statements today blasting Trump.

I expect Trump will be very un-Presidential tonight…and no doubt Cruz and Rubio will do their level best to egg him on.

Of course they will, silly! Right after they congratulate Hillary Clinton for her cool-as-a-cucumber professional demeanor during the Trey Gowdy House Select Committee 11-hour grilling last October.

Given that the gloves have come off of the Establishment Repubs, I wonder if Megyn will ask Trump about his Obama birth certificate debacle… aren’t we still waiting for Sheriff Joe and his posse to report back to us what they discovered in Hawaii? How does that batshit crazy NOT get mentioned???
