Brady claimed that overall, “it seems clear the company leans left”

Trump: I told you so. Me being a White Supremacist is the real victim here.

Let’s never lose sight of the fact that Trump is using the power of his office of the Presidency to try to get an individual fired from her job in the private sector. And an African-American female to boot.

Ideological diversity?

What - you going to bring back Curt Schilling to balance out a personal tweet that was truthful?

“ESPN needs to diversify politically”
“Bringing back Hank Williams Jr. for Monday Night Football isn’t the answer. The answer is improved ideological diversity in ESPN’s overall products.”

Is he proposing to fire anyone who seems, in his view, “too far left”? And calling out white supremacists is being “too far left”?

We need more misogyny and racism in our shows?

This is a really creepy statement.

Brady claimed that overall, “it seems clear the company leans left” and that ESPN needs to diversify politically now that media objectivity “seems to be a dying ideal.”

On the one hand, he’s saying ESPN personnel should avoid politics, but on the other hand, ESPN should diversify its politics?

Basically, he’s saying it’s ok but only if you have the “right politics”.

Here’s a question Brady. Pretty simple yes or no question.

Do you think Trump is a white supremacist or white supremacist friendly? Yes or no?

If no, you’ve gotta be kidding me. You need to lose your job immediately.

If yes, then how is that not related to sports? The sports that bring in over 95% of your revenues are disproportionately black. How is the fact that the president is a white supremacist not related?

ESPN will now cover curling, fencing and ping-pong in non-Olympic years.

I usually have to wait until football season to start saying this, but go fuck yourself, Brady.

For the record, Disney (owner of ESPN) CEO Bob Iger quit Trump’s business council due to the decision to withdraw from the Paris accords.

One wonders if Mr. Brady thinks that was too political. Too leftist. Maybe Disney should burn more coal to power their networks to diversify?

When I am searching out in-depth, thoughtful, informed political debate I always go to a sports channel.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

If you’re an AA football player using your inalienable right to protest, powerful wealthy NFL owners will gang up on you and deprive you of your livelihood. Never mind the fact his argument is spot on.

If you’re a female AA journalist, the actual freaking President of the United States will attempt to deprive you of your livelihood if you dare speak out against him.

Just coincidence, I’m sure. Definitely post-racial. Right, Judge Roberts?

I have all the cable news channels and sports channels blocked on my TV, so I don’t know who most of these guys are, but the idea that a channel that caters to the testosterone impaired “leans left” tells me this Brady character runs with the fair and balanced crowd.

Brady’s position is incoherent: he doesn’t want politics, he wants ‘balanced’ politics, he thinks ESPN “leans left” and this points to lack of objectivity when the far more straightforward conclusion is that objective truth these days is so poorly represented and actively abused on the right that any contradiction appears ‘left’ by default. In essence he is arguing that ESPN needs more liars, flimflammers and madmen to make the network more ‘balanced’ and therefore ‘objective’ (as he defines it).

Assuming Brady is venal rather than stupid my guess is he got some phone calls from corporate who were themselves contacted by one or more major funding sources.

Let’s also never lose sight of the fact that it’s against the law!

She tweeted an observable, verifiable FACT from her personal Twitter account.

Evidently free speech is great as long as it’s controlled. With that in mind, Jim, Fuck You!

The question Jim should ask before he writes anything should have been, “is what she said true?”. In this case, without a doubt, it is. Donald Trump is a white supremacist and a bigot, there’s ample evidence.

Because it’s true, it’s not an error in judgement. It’s as if she said “Donald Trump is currently the President” or “Donald Trump like to golf”. Jim needs to revisit what a personal “attack” is, because telling the truth about someone is not a personal attack.
