People like Erick Erickson and Ted Cruz, who grew up in ultra-orthodox Christian families with non-thinking parents who just sort of followed whatever the preacher/pastor says about the Good Word, they know they’re smarter than their parents, and they think they’re smarter than all their college cohorts who had no time for religion, and since they just can’t quit the whole religion thing, they build up this whole tissue of pseudo-intellectual justifications for their extreme and hypocritical views on various issues. Time goes by and they are reinforced by their stupider followers who are just grateful to anyone who can articulate a pseudo-intellectual perspective that retorts the cool college kids, so they get real arrogant and condescending. That arrogance is the thing that really carries a stench. Like their piety, it’s so phony.
And eric the pudgy, eric the tough guy coward showed the NYT what for. He used the front page editorial for target practice and posted a picture of it afterwards.

What I would not give to see a real religious leader actually witness to him. But alas, all they care about is fetuses, contraception and homosexuals.
I’m inclined to think that the mom just habitually denies anything any strange reporter asks her and this time it backfired,with hilarious results. Perhaps the Ericksons need to sit down as a family and get their lies straight (or maybe take serious stock of their lives,but that’s just me…).

73 is not that old. 27 years ago is not all that long ago. And it wasn’t an “event”. It was a tradition and if it happened year after year it would not be forgotten. But it seems the dear Erickson’s are no longer doing it? All their references to it are in the past tense. You know what I think? I think Erick is full of shit. Hate to break it to her, but there are more Japanese-Americans who are Christian than there are Japanese in Japan who are Christian. In fact, a lot of the Japanese who came to the U.S. prior to WWII did so because they were Christians and considered outsiders in Japan.
And go to the movies to try to clear their minds.
