Oh cā€™mon. OF COURSE, he did. And now, to save his butt he LIED about it and blamed some ā€˜stafferā€™. Itā€™s what they DO. Itā€™s a wife, or a secretary or a staffer but NEVER them. They really are bottom feeders.

These guys REALLY, REALLY SUCK at being competent bad guys. If anyone with a moral bone in their bodies controlled congress this would have been over with SOOO long ago.

Thereā€™s an oleaginous feel about those 2 staffers that has nothing to do with the drilling or fracking industries.

Pruitt - ā€œWell of course I approved it. When I said I just found out yesterday that they got it I meant the money. I had assumed the raises were still being processed in the payroll department. See the difference.ā€

ā€¦ senior political appointees at the EPA ā€¦ joked that Trumpā€™s infamous line that he could ā€œstand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot someoneā€ now applied to Pruitt.

Well, if Chiselinā€™ Trump stood in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shot Pruitt, I, for one, would not care.

ā€œI did not know that they got the pay raises until yesterday,ā€ Pruitt said

OK
He submitted the requests for a pay raise some time ago - he must be referring to how slowly bureaucracy work & how he really had no idea when they were going to actually be processed and actually be reflected in their paychecks

Yes, Iā€™m sure that is what he was trying to say ā€¦ I mean ā€¦ he would not just flat out lie ā€¦ would he?

Have you seen the bit, not entirely unconnected, about the complete lack of reported threats to Pruitt? For all we know there have been, but he was just too busy passing out money to his friends to run an office properly.

After Pruitt goes, will it reflect on Trump in any way? How many bad decisions about personnel, alone, does it take to see that Trump is unqualified as an executive? Forget the other skills necessary to be president, business acumen that Trump touts includes being able to hire the right people. And firing people when they donā€™t fit. Trump is doing neither. The parallels with Nixon are really beginning to add up.

Cronyism doesnā€™t need any business acumen.

I was going to say if one shot the other no one would care needs to be tested.

Every Republican official at every level is grabbing as much cash from the carnival prize booth as they can before time expires.

Hereā€™s the thing - even if Pruitt (and these aides) go, how much unethical or illegal money did they snatch while they were there? Did Pruittā€™s stock portfolio profit from companies with business before the EPA? And those aides - unless theyā€™re required to pay back the money theyā€™ve already received, they just go back to their shady former jobs in Oklahoma with a bit more jingle jangle in their pockets.

How long before the EPA Senior Counsel releases a statement saying that she had been told that Pruitt approved it, but she has now been informed that this information was in error?
Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.
