“The downfall does not come from the crime, it comes from the coverup, and that’s what we’re dealing with now,” he said.
As many folks have been noting, this one is going to be the exception that proves the rule. What actually happened is going to be much, much worse than the cover ups, but the cover ups are going to create quite a hefty legal trail through the courts, too.
This chorus for a special prosecutor is going to pick up steam rest of this week. Nunes and Burr have burnt their fig leave, so they have no credible excuse to stop it.
I honestly hope this takes a long while. Smear the R party as a whole with Drumpfs shit until they all stink to high heaven.
Burn them down.
I hope you’re right. We need another shoe to drop or be thrown.
As McConnell said, Trump = GOP. Let that percolate!
If ever a special prosecutor was needed, it’s in this case. The AG is unquestionably conflicted, and if he doesn’t recuse himself, it will be a big, flashing sign saying “COVER UP.”
And we’re only a month in.
OT, CBS News is reporting on the ungodly amount of taxpayer dollars Drumpf’s family is spending on travel.
It looks bad on Drumpf.
EDIT: Shouldn’t Trump be spending some of his own 10 billion dollars on his families business trips instead of sticking it to the American taxpayers?
I didn’t realize until I saw the report that the protection is not mandatory for adult children. Once again, that family is living far beyond our means.
I recall that a few months before the election that one of the Trump sons, either Bevis or the other, said in an interview that he himself was going to Russia ‘to talk’. I never read another word about it. That is suspect.
Yikes!! Looky at what Issa started.
You may be remembering this:
https://www.wsj.com/articles/donald-trump-jr-held-talks-on-syria-with-russia-supporters-1479920753
The WSJ article is from Nov 23rd 2016. If this article is true and if DJT jr negotiated with government folk from Russia then we have a case for …ahem… article 3 section 3 of the Constitution. Unelected private citizens are not legally supposed to negotiate on behalf of the US with a hostile foreign power.
TPM:
Trump: ‘Nobody Knew That Health Care Could Be So Complicated’
I totally agree with Durbin’s call for a Special Prosecutor to investigate interference in the 2016 election by Putin’s regime.
But, while not taking away anything from Durbin’s call, I think we also need a Special Prosecutor to investigate Trump’s criminal stupidity re: health care.
I’m remembering that the current SS director turned in his resignation, effective March 4th.
Clancy’s departure means that President Donald Trump will be able to select his own security chief. The Secret Service has almost 7,000 employees and is charged with protecting the president and his family as well as combating counterfeiting.
Oh boy.

Yeah, I believe it was The Jr Goes to Paris event.
Still would fit in snug with the issue. Thanks!
Google “the Logan Act”. It applies here I think.
Or someone has threatened to turn him in for past crimes.
Well, I hope Crooked Donald shows the same eye for competence and expertise when selecting his Secret Service chief as he did when choosing such stellar Cabinet picks as Betsy DeVos, Ben Carson, et. al.
Nunes, Burr, and all of the little surrogates on TV say essentially the same thing, that there is no compelling evidence to merit an investigation. Apparently they don’t read TPM or the NYT, or the WaPo, or Kurt Eichenwald. or David Kay Johnston, or . . . . ., or …, Do these people read anything?
Adding disarray to another department.
Don’t you love how he continually sounds like he just walked into the room and stumbled upon whatever the topic is at hand.
