Discussion: Doug Jones To Roy Moore: 'It's Time To Move On'

Agree with Jones, but asking a self-righteous dickhead to “move on” rarely bears fruit.

It’ll probably make Moore even more bullheaded, which may be exactly what Jones wants.

Roy Moore and “moving on” are mutually exclusive.

I fully expect the Republican Senate to humor ol’ Roy with calls for a recount, an interminable recount process, and delays in seating Sen. Jones. Like they did with Al Franken. Sure, nobody really WANTS Roy - but the longer they can keep Jones’ vote out of the Senate, the better.

Moore will be like the squatter occupying the vacant building until the bulldozer demolishes it.

I fully expect Moore to call for a recount as he sits in jail for pedophilia.

I keep seeing these stupid fucking headlines on the major news websites about Moore’s “CRUSADE!” for a ballot recount, and none of them mention the fact that there is no recount law in Alabama for federal elections, unless the margin is 0.5 or less, and then the recount is automatic. So if Moore starts soliciting funds for a recount, it is tantamount to fraud, and any money he raises will be for himself and his wife Kayla - you know, the greatest female defender of the Jews since Golda Meir.

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Roy Moore’s defeat in Alabama’s special election means that the Texas senator Ted Cruz will easily retain his status as the most despised person in the United States Senate, congressional insiders confirmed on Wednesday.

According to those insiders, Cruz had been secretly hoping that Moore’s election would displace him from his unenviable position as the most vilified pariah in the upper chamber.

“Cruz was praying that, if Moore got in, that might change the daily conversation around here from ‘Who has to sit next to Ted?’ ” one Republican colleague said.

Moore will probably try to drag this out to for the same amount of years that he prefers his dates to be - you know, 7 years.

What has happened to Susan Collins. She’s had quite a turnaround. Read in the NYT that there’s no need to wait for Doug Jones to be seated before the tax vote.

“We all vote in lame-duck sessions with retired and defeated members casting votes.”

I hear she has suddenly become inaccessible to visitors in her office.

A recount may not be feasible due to a last-minute ruling by the state supreme court.

So, we know trump called to congratulate Senator-elect Jones, as did Sen. Shelby. And we know Moore wont’ concede. But how about others? Gov. Ivey, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, even Sen. Strange – have they all congratulated Senator-elect Jones?

Roy is waiting for Jesus to come down from heaven, smite Doug Jones, and force the state of Alabama to declare him the real winner.
