I think Donald wants to buy the USA cheap by using free media, install some double basin en suite bathrooms and huge walk in shoe closets and flip the whole kit and caboodle for tidy profit. Then start his next reality show called “Flip That Nation”.
Sure, it’s a change. I’m allowed to change
Except that’s a 180 degree change.
C’mon, people aren’t that stupid.
Drumpf voters are.
And seriously, if you could somehow miraculously “bring jobs back” how in the fuck does that guarantee that people will get paid more than 15 dollars an hour?
You’re stupid.
"But my real minimum wage is going to be — I’m going to bring companies back into this country,
He’s going to “raise” the minimum wage the way he “gives” to charity.
I’m allowed to change
All yours, media. Go on, screw this one up too.
It was always obvious that he’s never thought any of this through, he just wings it day to day. But it’s also becoming increasingly obvious he won’t change that. Election Day will dawn without his having once given any policy topic a sustained examination. It’s just not in him to do it. Not to repeat myself but when it comes to making an effort he’s spoiled punk teenager who’s always got a reason why right now is the wrong time to mow the lawn.
Two memes are going to come out of this election season.
Bernie supporter: Somebody who is passionately idealistic but a bit naive.
Trump supporter: Hopelessly gullible racist dumbfuck.
Why would it need to be “in him?” No one, least of all the media, will challenge that fact. The guy’s a master at manipulating the media. He knows they don’t give a shit, and won’t bother to ask.
Then he’ll contradict himself within hours. How this nonsense will gain him votes is a mystery.
He knows they don’t give a shit, and won’t bother to ask.
You, and Trump, are correct in this. However, it’s dramatically clear that he’s an ignoramus about virtually every aspect of policy that a President has to deal with. He’s Sarah Palin only with a smaller penis.
He’s going to bring companies back while making them pay over $15/hour?
Unless he’s got incriminating photos on all these CEOs, no way.
These will be Great jobs. And the companies will make so much money. A lot of money. And the jobs. There is no minimum to what these jobs will pay. Remember this. It will be great.
And the talking heads will dissect this kind of crap and grade it’s “seriousness” and what it means about policy.
His idea of how capitalism works is naive. If high import tariffs (which he wants, at least so far) make for bringing back some manufacturing to the US, then that product will have a higher price tag. And the company will not be able to export it when it is being made cheaper elsewhere. So, less disposable income for Americans, less successful companies, economic slowdown.
You could write several books about the problems American journalists, what’s left of them, have in dealing with a dishonest and manipulative interviewee. But I do think saying “they don’t give a shit and won’t bother to ask” is an exaggeration. Some weeks ago he did interviews with editorial-board people at the WaPo and the Times, and in both encounters the reporters and editors involved found him astonishingly uninformed about everything, made that clear in their reporting, and said so in the editorial pages. Those are hardly the only examples. Hell, most of the country, including many of his own supporters, know he’s ignorant about this stuff. Surely they found out about it through some medium or other. One more example: @emjayay has a point about the effect of Trump’s economic blatherings that I’ve read multiple times in opinion pieces and so forth. One problem we have with journalism in this country is that people basically don’t want it. And when an industry is in decline for decades, the best practitioners of it will be long gone. That’s a big reason for what we see now.
The debate with Hillary is going to be something to behold.
Oh, come on. He’s not reversing himself. He just a very wide stance.
Rubbish. Only a corporate apologist would write this.
