either way drumpf was going to put his guy in there, but i think its odd he is stepping down before the transition starts, almost as if he wants nothing to do with drumpos people.

Apparently none of those morons are showing up where they are needed for the Great Transition. Maybe he saw it for what it was and figured leaving now was better.

I suspect that he may not want to deal with a really vicious scumbag like General Flynn. Or perhaps he wants to be clear that it will not be his responsibility when the Ruskies get our most vital secrets, including the names of our deepest agents. Or perhaps he wants deniability when the Russians invade Estonia and we do nothing.

Methinks you are right
Who would want to be instructing those morons in National Security 101
"You see Donald , you need to be aware that if you do "this" the result will be THIS!!! "

Yah I can understand taking a pass

What do you make of this? Don’t know for sure. I’d guess his initial experiences with the Trump folks weren’t something he wanted to keep doing for 2 more months.

Bad. Trump has to install someone who knows what they are doing right away and those people don’t want to work for Trump. Coupled with the fact that ISIS is going to bomb the inauguration which everyone will get killed so designated survivor Keiffer Sutherland will run things, which might be good.

This is all Obama’s fault.

I remember the arrogance of the Dubya administration when they took over. Telling the out-going Clinton people that they really knew what was important, and no terrorism isn’t a problem. In fact we’re going to try and score a pipeline deal with the Taliban through Afghanistan even though they want to blow-up giant statues of the Buddha. Oh how we laughed! Good times!

Or perhaps all of the above.

I know the feeling well, you want to do what is right but your patience is waning, finally you say to yourself fuck it! my staying is changing nothing, I am deluding myself, they might as well get on with fucking up the (Insert government function) [intelligence community] too.

And just as likely, they don’t want to be thrown under the bus for what the see will be clearly illegal activities ordered by the White House.

I’m torn between wanting all the reasonable and semi-reasonable people to say f*** you to Trump, and wanting them to stay involved because otherwise, it’s the 4th tier running the country.

National Security may take on a whole new meaning very soon. Database professionals are worried.

He’s gave notice of his resignation last night, but he’ll hang on until Jan 20. I’d be worried about whomever Trump appoints, but s/he probably won’t be smart enough to know how to turn on a computer.

I would want a clear line between myself and the new administration also!

I expect the “swamp” will clear itself before Donny refills it with his own reptiles anyway.

Don’t worry we have Jared Kushner to the rescue. He will be calling daddy on his shoe phone any minute now.

Or perhaps being saddled blame when these morons who a way out of their depth do something wrong. What will be interesting is that if career professionals start jumping ship en masse.

Permanent Saturday Night Massacre. Only this time, the last one standing will be way worse than Bork.
