There have been reports that planes are launching from the air base we struck yesterday, so I doubt that this euphoria over Trump’s air strike will last much longer.

The % is better than Trumps approval rating
California is a model of (and for) the rest of the nation.
It is so large in every respect that it encompasses a fair part of the entire national character (it was its own regional blue maker/red rural taker division, etc.)
It has 1/8 of the entire US population, 15% of the GDP (a bit wealthier than the nation as a whole), a richly diversified economy (more so than, say, poorer, fossil fuel extraction dependent Texas).
And it works.
The environment is a too priority, its fiscal house is in good order, gerrymandering is banned, it does not suppress voting and respects minority and worker rights. It is the new melting pot with a steady influx of people from all over the world (most Asian immigrants come to California for example). It is seen as welcoming to the world.
California is the U.S. that the right claims cannot exist. No wonder they hate California with such a vicious undying vengeance.

I think you’re right about Trump’s political need to sound human and compassionate. His numbers have been so bad that he’s been in need of doing something.
Is he actually unfeeling and unconcerned? Yes and no. I think he’s so thin-skinned and so obsessed about his image that he rarely has time to show another side of himself, if such a side exists. He’s not a well man. The person to compare Trump to is Richard Nixon, who was also thin skinned. I feel weird saying it, but Nixon was more human. Nixon lasted six years. I’m not sure Trump will last even half that time.

Everyone should always remember that trump said “he inherited a messed up world and only he can fix it”.
I, for one don’t think he can fix a damned thing of any consequence. If he does I will be the most amazed human on the planet. Chucking 59 cruise missiles at a runway won’t end the war in Syria. It might move Assad to attack us if he can. If a non state actor guy like Osama bin Laden can then Assad could do something similar to make his point.

So after watching a report on television showing innocent children being killed by chemical weapons Trumps people jump at the chance to up his ratings. That is what happened. No policy or plan was in place for response and in fact Russia was forewarned about the impending attack and they in turn warned Syria who moved their planes and most personnel. The airfield was used to launch flights today which shows how ineffective this attack was.

CNN is reporting the following:
“A U.S. defense official told CNN’s Ryan Browne that 58 out of 59 of the
Tomahawk missiles, “severely degraded or destroyed” their intended
targets.”
I am wondering what Missile #59 hit?
CNN also reports that about 20 planes, more or less, were destroyed in the attack.
