Violation of an ethical human being … more like it —
Indeed, Kellyanne violated The Hatch Act and Senator Orrin Hatch should be outraged at her unlawful actions!
I’m totally startled that Sen Orrin Hatch has not been more vocal against Kellyanne.
Cousin It certainly violated all decency.
I just looked up the consequences of violating the Hatch Act. Apparently it goes to an entity called the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB). And, sure enough, they lack sufficient members to reach a quorum, so have basically been gutted.
In other words, nothing happens to Ms. Conway, but it’s still nice to lay down markers. People years from now should know who the villains were.
I’m sure she’ll get a sternly worded memo from the WH Counsel instructing her to not do that again. Meh.
Ethics is viewed as weakness in this Administration, not as an abiding tenet for good governance. And that may work for them in the short term, but will destroy them in the long term. Because I believe people fundamentally want fairness and justice and will not remain accepting of injustice over time.
Kellynne:
“Hatch Act? Whaddya mean, the guy told me he was 21!”
The U.S. Office of Special Counsel confirmed it is opening an investigation into a possible Hatch Act violation by Conway ...
So what? In this administration laws are only one of two things: an impediment to be ignored or a weapon against enemies; this is a clear case of the former and Conway has nothing to worry about (as long as she remains loyal of course).
It’s like this:
In late June, President Trump hosted a group of Native American tribal leaders at the White House ...The chiefs explained to Trump that there were regulatory barriers preventing them from getting at their energy. Trump replied: "But now it's me. The government's different now. Obama's gone; and we're doing things differently here."“So what I’m saying is, just do it.” …
“Chief, chief,” Trump continued, addressing one of the tribal leaders, “what are they going to do? Once you get it out of the ground are they going to make you put it back in there? I mean, once it’s out of the ground it can’t go back in there. You’ve just got to do it. I’m telling you, chief, you’ve just got to do it.” - Donald John Trump (POTUS, 2017)
Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a law breaker, it breeds contempt for the law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy.” - Louis D. Brandeis (SCOTUS, 1928)
Wonder what Justice Brandeis would have to say about a government that declared law irrelevant.
If they broadcast any hearings, I sincerely hope they make her testify with a bag over her head or her face digitally blacked out and her voice digitally altered. Not to protect her identity in any way. Just to prevent any violent trauma inflicted upon the American viewing public from having to see and hear her for an extended period of time.
These would be ethical violations, but this “Administration” has none. And I loved this part:
“We want the votes in the Senate to get this tax bill through,” she said.
And they will support a pedophile to do so…it’s beyond disgusting, it verges on criminal behavior.
What? A professional liar in the cesspool of the Trump Administration violated ethics laws?
I’m shocked.
“Your winnings, sir!”
The toothless Hatch Act cannot ensure
That Conway won’t endorse Moore.
But I propose
That Ivanka’s clothes
Make you just as much of a member of the world’s oldest profession
remember, she’s a mother
Apparently, Trump hasn’t groped her lately.
Hatch Act…STUPID
Or is she? Is this JUST ANOTHER shiny object. Pay the fiddler STUPID.
Except for the orange’s die hard fans. They care not if he’s unethical, criminal, liar etc…This is how low we have come.
Trump: Constitution and our laws do not apply to The Witches. Waste of money. Besides I have already pardoned her for being Russian whatever etc.
As the Asshole -elect would say: lock her (the skank) up. Sad.
