Pulling the ads for the ACA days before the close of the enrollment period likely kept 10,000s of Americans from signing up. How many of these people will die because of undiagnosed or untreated health problems? Trump will have the deaths and heartache of hundreds of Americans and their families on his hands.

We all knew that people were going to die because of Trump-Putin’s policies and incompetence. Hager’s mother may be the first, at only 10 days into Trump’s term.
Unfortunately, she’s not likely to be the last.
Hate to pour cold water (that’s a blatant like, I like pouring cold water), but if the man’s mother was so ill that she died the day after being refused passage, it was probably not caused directly by the ban. (There’s nothing in the story suggesting that she was so upset by being barred from the flight that that caused her death, for instance.) She had been taken ill sufficiently while visiting Iraq for her son to want to get her to the US for medical treatment, which he certainly should have been permitted to do. But would she have survived a long and stressful flight, and then got to a US hospital in time to save her life? Possible, but I have to wonder.
