Media coverage of Ms. Naimma’s funeral would be nice. Steve Bannon and Fox would surely do something like that were it to further the interests of the 1 percent.

Thanks for the comment. I’ve never gotten a response from Josh to any email I’ve sent in the last 3 months and have not been able to find an author’s email before. This time I tried flagging my own post. I got a “thank you, we are looking into it response”
I disagree. Where you are and where you go can make all the difference in the world, this I know from personal experience. “She would have died anyway” is an un-empathetic cop-out, especially given that she had every legal right to seek treatment in the US.
And more to the point, she had every right to die in the US, with her American family.

You might be right that facts will turn out not to support use of this case to make “Trump is a murderer” claims, but his immigration policies are inhumane and will be causing avoidable deaths. An elderly woman on death’s doorstep never should have been a victim of efforts to improve national security.
Maybe the man’s mother would have died shortly after arrival in the US, had she been allowed through, but she would have done so in the country she’d been living in for the past 20+ years and she would have done so with her son and his family around to give her comfort.
This is not an attack on you. I have no doubt that your cold water was tossed only on the claim that the ban caused her death, and was not an attempt to dismiss the suffering caused by the ban.

I suspect that Josh hasn’t responded because they have been in the process of expanding over the last three months.
On the other hand, sometimes the headlines are just bad and commenting and getting others agreeing with you will get someone’s attention.
