Discussion: Dems Won't Immediately Demand Trump's Tax Returns

You got to pace it, yes…easy does it - and with an error-prone adversary, it’s be better to let him step on his own dick…

"Politico reported that Neal may wish to work with the Trump administration on areas of tax policy, and wouldn’t want to blow up the relationship with the tax return fight. "

Work with… exactly what gives him the idea that they would work with him on either way? Unless we are talking about cutting taxes with rich people, which they would be ok with either way.

Smart. Do it but do it later when you have a reason for it other than just anti-trump partisan attack. Mueller might let it out and the Dems can stay clean on the issue. My guess is the IRS has “fixed” his returns much like the Texas National Guard “fixed” Bush’s guard records. Don’t rush to be like Republicans and invest all your political capital in partisan activities. “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” and today aint time for that. But that time will come around.

Mueller already has the window open on this …

Just wait for his report … then get out the comb —

Yep. Make the case. As I said in the other thread, the MSM is going to be running everything though the “presidential harassment” test because they just can’t fucking help themselves. Measured, tempered, reasonable, rational, even-handed, deliberate, unhurried…the Dems have to project all of that like the fucking Bat signal if they’re to win through the false equivalence, bothsiderism smokescreen.

Politico reported that Neal may wish to work with the Trump administration on areas of tax policy, and wouldn’t want to blow up the relationship with the tax return fight.

Also too, he may have the apple fritter this morning, rather than the bear-claw.

“Immediately”

I concur.

Make him squirm first.

My first thought. When you’re investigating financial crimes I’d think that would be among the first three things you’d ask for.

Just do it please. Stop with this nonsense. The case has been laid out. Just get the tax returns.

Lexis Nexis to the rescue! Fortunately “presidential harassment” is a new buzz phrase. And you are probably 100% spot on when you say Dem’s can expect it to be thrown at them. The term is a GOP concoction and the MSM just loves them some of that. No MSM’er is going to deny that Obama wasn’t obstructed from day one to his final day. Think Garland. But you can bet your butt the MSM didn’t use the phrase presidential harassment because it hadn’t yet been written for them. So there’s an angle. Before a Democratic House member goes on an MSM program make sure they have a lexis nexis on how many times ( exact number ) that journo has used the phrase Presidential harassment since the Dem’s took over ( many ) and why they never used it in discussion of Garland…the mother off all harassment. No need to clarify that it didn’t exist. Just ask why. It will go soon enough.

“[Neal] wants to lay out a case about why presidents should be disclosing their tax returns before he formally forces him to do it”

The case is already laid out. Get on with it already.

“Politico reported that Neal may wish to work with the Trump administration on areas of tax policy, and wouldn’t want to blow up the relationship with the tax return fight.”

Oh dear god. If this is accurate, Neal has learned nothing. Another clown for Trump? Get the fucking tax returns, put that fucker in prison. There is no working with him or his administration. There is no relationship on offer, except an abusive one which Neal seems to crave. Depressing news on the first day of the new congress.

Charles Schultz simply named the GOP with the football “Lucy” and the Democrats “Charlie Brown”. Get the damn tax returns and be done with it.

And the reason Trump is terrified by his tax returns becoming public?

Not because it might reveal massive tax cheating. (It will.)

Or because it might reveal decades of money laundering. (It will.)

Or even because it might reveal a rat’s nest of Russian criminality. (It will.)

But because it’ll strip him naked of the laughable claim that he’s a “billionaire”.

(“It’s like a manhood thing for him.”)

Could some of you at least wait to see the MSM actually do the perfidious things you just know they will? If they start up with a hue and cry about “presidential harassment” that would be wrong and bad, but at this point it’s pretty much your own bloodthirsty imaginations. Ask any Republican anywhere how much he or she thinks the MSM is in cahoots with or bamboozled by this administration. Because somehow, despite all these machinations and collusioning, the power of the House goes to the Democrats in 18 fucking minutes. How did that happen? I confess I’m puzzled.

Presidential harassment is probably going to become the Lump’s favorite phrase. He wore out, “lock her up”, “witch hunt”, “fake news”, so it’s time to move onto something that points to him personally.

The prosecution will stipulate, but reserves the right to call rebuttal witnesses at a later time.

Fair enough, no need to “immediately” gallop with fanfare after Trump’s tax returns. But why does this issue have to be couched in stupid talk about a “relationship” and “working with” the Trump administration? Tired of that shit.

The defense finds that acceptable, Your Honor.

I think it is revealing that Democrats are actually trying to govern and do what they were elected to do. How long to you think this will last before they can’t stand Trump’s foolishness anymore?
