Smile. Enjoy the smell of their panic. Don’t lift a finger to help them. And don’t forget to wave politely as they drive themselves off the cliff.
"They're really worried because anyone who pays any
attention to health care knows exactly what is about
to happen to the system, to the market and to
individuals, and they don't want to be blamed for it
so they're trying to see if they can take us off the
cliff with them and we aren't going to abide by it,"
Schatz said.
Sen. Brian Schatz (D-HI):
"They are in a panic.
They want a life line because they don’t have a plan. They have no idea what comes next so they want some bipartisan cover for their nonsense behavior.

No, don’t smile and wave. Scream and wave your fists. Because they are going to take a lot of hostages over the cliff with them.
Let them twist slowly, slowly in the wind. That was Ehrlichman, right? I always get Nixon’s Nazis mixed up.
They are the dog that caught the truck. I was at a local event this AM where my newly elected GOP Congresscritter (John Faso, NY-19) spoke. He made the usual noises about needing bipartisan participation (he rolled out the canard that ACA was passed without a single GOP vote being the Dems fault) and now he’s looking for cover from the Dems to get the parts of “ACA reform” outside of the Reconciliation process through the Senate.
The Dems need to repeat this again and again to the media and the GOP.
You have no plan, so go pound sand.
Republicans, in general, are opposed to any government programs that might help people. Helping people is to be done by the private sector…for profit.
Let’s be clear, the panic is over the political blowback from taking away healthcare from millions of people, not from the idea that millions of people will lose their healthcare. There is a pretty simple solution, give the people a plan the actually provides affordable care to everyone. Outside of that, fuck off.
Why would they be in a panic? If they back off on repeal/replace, their voters never have to pay the price for their votes.
This was all about removing Democrats from office, and on that front they succeeded.
So ObamaCare will survive - the Tea Partiers will be appeased when the rest of his legacy is dismantled piece by piece.
Republicans won’t be able to kill it entirely, but they’ll get most of it.

He he …

Up until 2004 Yankee fans used to get off on the singsong chant of “Nineteen Eighteen” at the Red Sox and their fans, 1918 being the last year the Sox had won the World Series. In a beautiful twist of karma on the way to winning the Series in 2004, the Red Sox beat the Yankees in the American League Championship and in the process overcame a 3 games to none Yankees lead becoming the first and only Major League Baseball team to ever rally from a 3-0 deficit to win a 7 game series.
This time it seems that karma may strike again as the barking dog has caught the car. As the gopers hurl themselves under the tires may I humbly suggest that their whines be met with the following chant: “Twenty Eighteen”
“He also said Republicans were looking for Democratic cooperation so that they can share the blame.”
And by share, they mean someone to shoulder all of it.
Thoughts and prayers, etc., for the Republican caucus in their time of trouble.
They love some of them. Like those farm subsidies. ( they all seems to own farms ). They also love their taxpayer funded top end healthcare plans.
Throw. Them. An. Anchor.
I think it’s best (the anchor) considering Republicans have a way of returning to the scene of the crime where they, with complete confidence, point their fingers and exclaim Dems did it Dems did it! Dems then immediately overreact, soil their pants and fuck everything up.
Throw. Them. An. Anchor.
A hammer and sickle would be appropriate too.
How else (other than successfully pinning the ACA repeal tail on tbe democrat party) do you expect the GOTP to expand their mandates?
I sent the following email to my members of Congress who are all Republicans.
Perhaps you might spread the word among your constituents that the ACA, the Affordable Care Act, and Obamacare are the same. People seem not to be aware that the different names apply to the same program, and they will be shocked and dismayed when Obamacare is repealed, and they lose their health insurance under the ACA.
Thank you for your attention.
Of course, the members of Congress may prefer their constituents to remain confused, but those among them who lose their health insurance will have a sudden, blinding understanding, and there will be a price to pay.
I hope every Democrat in Congress shuns any attempt to cooperate with the GOP on a health care plan. Sen. Schatz is correct; the only better plan is single payer, and we all know the Republicans will not do that.
