Discussion: Dem Senator On Republican O'Care Replacement: 'They Are In A Panic'

I think “vibrato” should be “bravado”, no?

The GOP used to have a safety valve in that Obama would veto their ‘attempts’ at Repeal&Replace.

6 years to craft a replacement and they didn’t do shit. That is the take home story here. They still have no coherent plan. And half of America does not know that the ACA is private insurance, not government insurance single payer like Medicare. When they whine about increasing premiums they should blame the companies, not the ACA.

“Other Democrat senators TPM talked to said Republicans had not reached out to them to hammer out a plan.”
Excuse me? “Democrat senators”? What are those, Ms. Fox?
Could you possibly be referring to Democratic senators?

@headhunter212–“You have no plan, so go pound sand.”

That sounds like one of those chants they like so much. Perhaps if we put it that way, they will finally understand.

“I’ve actually talked to Republicans about what is next, and I said, 'You know the only way to get 900,000 people covered in Ohio and to get 22 million covered in the United States is single payer. It’s Medicare for all”

about sums it up, this was true the day ACA was passed, since ACA is most likely log term untenable, only next step is universal coverage or none at all

OK, Republicans, I can see you’re desperate. Here’s a plan. It’s high-risk, but no one has been able to think of a better one.

  1. Change parties.

  2. Impeach Trump.

  3. Stop trying to f*** with Obamacare.

it would depend on whether or not batteries are included…

Of cousre they are, especially since they need Dem support to make it look bipartisan in case it fucks up. Which it will

Schatz told TPM that Republicans’ overtures to talk health care are little more than vague hints that the Democratic senator should sit down with them.

And to which the only proper response is to tell Republicans to go catheterize themselves with rusty barb wire.

“I think they want a life line”

Fuck that. The only line they should get:

You strung your tree, bitches, now swing from it.

It’s not true that Republicans don’t have a health plan. They do. It’s the same one they’ve had for many years: Die sooner.

I’m crazy about this story thanks @irasdad.

The FBI and five other law enforcement and intelligence agencies have collaborated for months in an investigation into Russian attempts to influence the November election, including whether money from the Kremlin covertly aided President-elect Donald Trump, two people familiar with the matter said.

The Republicans have put themselves in an insane political quandry where they have to burn through the lion’s share of their newfound political capital to either (1) take health insurance away from millions of their constituents, or (2) make some modest reforms that cement a Democratic priority (federally-expanded healthcare coverage) into the American legal system.

And the “helping people” part is optional.

Senator Schatz is a very articulate fellow! I hope the rest of the party is as clear and consistent on this to the media so maybe, just maybe something seeps into the pinheads who voted for this fool and his non stop bullsh*t.
