Rep Lofgren just made my hero wall. We need more of this. If GOPers want to shed “political correctness”, let our side do it too, and call them out for the bigoted racists they are. They want to be politically incorrect, let’s be politically incorrect. She should have called Rep Steve King a bigot too. Get that on the record!!
They shit wherever and whenever they please, which is what this particular Russian Princess Owl has been doing.
My recent formulation of this is, “Republicans are always fighting for the right to punch down instead of lift up.”
I’d recommend tweet-length, because that’s what the people want.
Lofgren is an ignorant piece of crap whose main contribution to life in these United States is that she is the biggest proponent of the H-1B in Congress. That’s due, of course, to her making millions of dollars in her job as an immigration lawyer in depriving US workers of their livelihoods. For her to make millions, US workers must lose their jobs. She’s a piece of crap.
The new SNL point counter point
Gail you ignorant bigot…
I see your point, but I respectfully disagree. It’s clear you are a bigger person than I am. In response, I say have you ever argued with an idiot before? Reason and facts don’t make a dent. Any form of lucid argument doesn’t penetrate their hate. Just the other day, I had the unfortunate experience of an argument with an idiot. She insisted that Dems are disrespectful to everyone else’s beliefs. She felt the bathroom bills were justified because the problem is “petulent”–she clearly meant pervasive, but I wasn’t going to help her in her dumb argument. She told me about an instance in Washington state, and then another in Texas. I tried to reason with her and tell her that, I have never heard of these “incidents” and if it’s real, then these are probably very isolated incidents that are being heightened to be used as proof by proponents of the bills. But, I couldn’t even get that sentence in. As soon as she heard isolated, she cut me off, and insisted that it happens ALL THE TIME! I then realized I was wasting my breath, and told her to shove it up her ass. Sometimes, you just have to tell these people that they’re dumb. Maybe that truthfulness will force some introspection onto them, and they’ll wonder why they were called that? Doubtful, but it needs to be done. Reason and facts hasn’t made NC or Texas repeal their laws, so why would it work here?
Again, please know I get what you’re trying to say, and kind of agree. High minded rhetoric should be present in our chambers of federal government, but we’re dealing with idiots. I don’t care that she is a law professor, her “russian princess” argument is proof that she’s an idiot.
No. Gail Heriot is one of the Congressional appointees to the United States Commission on Civil Rights.
The author of this piece simply got the name of the commission wrong, and the editor didn’t catch it.
Heriot is probably not an idiot, poetic opportunities aside. What a lawyer says proves nothing, least of all what they actually think. It may strike you as a stupid argument, but note that Lofgren didn’t rebut it, but instead got flustered and angry. Much like the readers. That’s a clever bit of lawyering – she was snide and dismissive enough to steer the argument away from the issue. She’s a true blue McConnell stooge.
As for the issue itself, it goes unanswered. What’s the fundamental difference between Russian owl delusions and gender dysphoria?
You go Girl!
Don’t let these bigots hide behind procedure or anonymity.
Call them out for what they are publicly.
There’s an editor?
"Heriot jumped in once more to ask, “Does that mean you think I am a Russian princess?”
no, it means she thinks you’re an odious maroon, who has no business serving on the Human Rights Commission, since you apparently can’t tell the difference between fact and fantasy. and this woman is a law professor. what, they didn’t have a position available for you at Liberty or Regent “Law School”?
Well, crap. You’re a big tease for holding out on the answer.
This looks like it’s going to be the election cycle of strong women standing up and pointing out bullshit because the men aren’t willing to.
But for clueless jobkiller liberals like Lofgren, the term “bigot” IS the culmination of the argument. In point of fact, there is no empirical validity to the “transgender” belief. It’s as valid as anorexia or bulemia, and we consider those to be psychotic states.
Maybe in another forum, with another person. Heriot has been on the USCCR for quite a while, writes and teaches on civil rights, and was testifying as a member of the USCCR. She knows that transgender rights is not about indulging either fantasies or delusions, but she is going on record, before Congress, as a USCCR Commissioner, making her false and demeaning comparison.
Lofgren was totally correct to point out Heriot’s ugliness and her disgusting disregard for what transgender people are going through. It is ignorance to pretend that transgenderism is not a biological reality, and it is bigotry to mock transgender people and to actively work to deny them civil rights.
What’s the fundamental difference between transgender dysphoria and body-shape dysphoria (anorexia)? There is no difference, except one if popular in credulous liberals and the other is not.
Gee, what a lovely thought. Now we are using the appearance of others to deride them?
But Rep. Lofgren did make an argument beyond “you’re a stupid asshole”. She made it very clearly, which is more than I might have been able to do when confronted by a false equivalency as ridiculous as the one offered by Ms. Heriot.
LOL. I am innocent of your charge. I wrote my comment before watching the video.
I would hate to have the dishonor of being the first person to bring demeaning comments about physical appearance into the political battles of 2016.
