We Americans tend to jump into the shit too easily anyway, without having to watch live streaming of someoneās sister getting gang banged by an enemy battalion.

Itās not unknown for ISIS and its ilk to rape men too. So itās not a good idea to let men fill combat roles either.
I suspect the deepest, unvoiced objection to women in combat may come from the right. Those pasty white men calling the shots for the right wing donāt like the idea that female combat veterans could be coming home and choosing to refuse to take any of the misogynistic, ugly crap the religiofascist Republicans are handing out. I have an idealistic vision of a female Marine combat vet going to the Congressional office building and kicking Todd Akinās skinny ass down the corridors and out into the street.

Sure, why not? Itās right and fair. Young women should also be subject to conscription if the need arises. But on the other hand,

We are the cannon fodder for the 99%. We are dying. No help from the 99%. A vacuous āThank Youā here and there. We need to be made well. If the people really cared Congress would be flooded with calls. They donāt and never will. There are many acceptions to this but all in all most give lip service.

Thereās probably is no good position to take in this debate. I spent a year in heavy combat and for the most part everything I did and was expected to do could be handled by a woman. I certainly fought some very tough women. So as far as their ability to do itā¦sure they can.
But, at least for now, women joining a rifle squad, becoming a machine-gunner on a tank or taking the Number 2 position on a 155 mm howitzer cannot expect that āmans worldā to make any sudden changes. My thoughts are ā¦the big āman caveā that is a combat unit is going to take women a little getting used to and it will be a lot harder getting used to that than combat itself. Itās a gross place folks.
Sexuality is going to have to go. You get shot in the chest I am going to rip your shirt open no matter what you have beneath it. Ill expect a woman to have no qualms rendering field care to me if I take shrapnel to my testicles. I donāt see ( with the proper conditioning ) any reason why that cannot be done. so thatās probably all that needs to be said about that.
Men and women were created with sexual desires for each other. Weāll need rigid training on the suppression of that. Since sexual attraction is normal thatās going to be a bit tough. Probably can be done as a bunch of normal stuff is not tolerated in the military and it is stifled. The sex stuff is a problem because if not controlled it would be a mission killer. I think it can be done though. NO oneās going to like the methods much.
My biggest concern with woman in combat is that they are women. They have a different way of looking at things then men do and I agree for the most part a superior one. But combat is a fucking ugly mess. Itās real victims are women and childrenā¦lots or women and childrenā¦and that is going to be a bit tougher on a woman than it is on a man. Its likely going to be harder for a woman to become an iceman than a man. Actually sub zero icemen break down at times. I really donāt think many women want to become icemen so I donāt imagine youāll see a flood of them wanting 11.12. or 13 MOSās even if offered to them. Please donāt twist this into me saying women are weak and overly emotional. Any married guy like myself will argue against that till the end of time. But they do have a different emotions set than men and combat was tailored for the masculine ones. More work.
This is going to be a lot of work and I doubt youāll see much demand for these positions by women. I donāt know many women with a favorable opinion of violence and killing. And if we are talking about the Combat Arms: Infantry, Armor, Artillery and the Combat Engineersā¦killing is what you are asking them to do.
Rape is a horror but given what can happen to a man or women in combat it pales. Referring to rape in a discussion of women is knee jerk.

When Climate Chaos bares down on us like a hammer on a nail and batters us into the ground, wars will come to a stop - maybe. Scientists are ranting about the end of the human species experiment and we go off and fight war for oil. I think we - human beings - are insane. We are addicted to war and money and stuff.
Its not a good idea because the whole premise of massive amounts of gratuitous death of any kind is wrong.
What next once the young women are exhausted (military term), teenagers and Grandparents? Its like, Oh Well, some more of our kids will die, whatās the big deal?
This idea really sucks in fact, we would have excessive troops doing nothing now if it werenāt for the hideously stupid war choices we have already been suckered into. There isnāt a smart war in our future that requires more human targets that create even more emotional pain for American families. Do these war pigs just like seeing humans die, is it a better/bigger thrill having a woman kill for them?
Canāt drones just duke it out? Full on robot wars is the best idea. Let them develop better and better robots, neutral gendered of the perfect fighting age, heartless and powered with recycled freedom fry oil or some such crap. Maybe they could be programmed to figure out the futility of war as they actually fight it, then become fully aware and turn against their masters. This sounds like the best plan to me.
